I don't understand your post? I believe global climate change is occurring and humans do have the ability to alter the climate...my post was talking about the posters who don't believe in global climate change.
Man made-climate change isn't real, we can chart the human genome, split the atom, and capture dark energy, but a simple structure of cause and effect is waaaay beyond our control. If you believe in evolution this shouldn't be very hard to comprehend. If you don't believe in evolution you're not arguing on a scientific level and aren't allowed an opinion.
Compared to the genome, atoms, and dark energy, our climate is something far more complicated. Consider the fact that they make this science work with accurate, measurable data, that they gather in a controlled environment. The science behind our climate is no so easily measured against a control. Therefore speculation is as good as it gets right now. Its easy to say CO2 and water vapor make our planet hot. And not even a single person here is disputing it. What we are disputing is the fact that people ( scientists and otherwise) pretend they know how much we are effecting the climate, in comparison to the other factors that effect climate. The planet was heating and cooling long before we got here, and long before we industrialized. If scientist are so sure WE are influencing the climate and making it hot, then how come i have never once seen a paper or study that discusses how much we are adding to the equation, in comparison to how much the sun, and other natural sources of greenhouse gases are adding ? Likely because that set of data is impossibly large, and we don't really have the means to collect it all. Are you referring to the fact that evolution is also based on correlation and speculation, rather than direct observation?
So what power over the sun do humans have? You do realize that the gases coming out of your car are not the only factor here right?

IDC if they wanna buy a crappy prius, use crappy cfl bulbs and pay an extra carbon tax on everything. However when they try bs like banning incandescent bulbs, raising fleet economy standards to force everyone into a crappy plastic ecobox and they try to get moronic carbon taxes passed which would affect everyone THEN I have a problem. I'll stick with my nice v8 car, hoard up a bunch of incandescent bulbs and laugh my ass off at them. Btw it's pointless even trying to address this issue until we get global population growth under control. The planet should have like 2 billion people at max. We wouldn't even be having these problems if people would stop breeding like rodents and having 6+ children. Say we cut our individual carbon output by 50% over the next 50 years. That won't do a bit of good if there's twice as many of us. The climate is dynamic. It is not supposed to be 72 degrees all over the planet all the time. They took a naturally occurring scientific process and turned it in to a perceived crisis so that a global government can be constructed around it.
