Various lights (cfl t5 mh bulb) for different stages of veg

  1. So I'm planning on 8X2 (roughly) veg room in a fairly standard 8x2 closet... I think. My over all goal is to keep 1 or 2 mothers alive, a domed seedling thing with heater mat (big plastic box really, your local garden store has them) for
Clones, an area for real veg and stretch, and then to buckets with their screens to be modular scrogged.

At the last point it'd be 3 plants as I'm planning a modular grow.

Thinking 8 cuttings to veg, killing off those doing poorly.

My idea was for a small part of the closet to use cfl's for the clone dome. I may later go to one of the diy professional clover guides here. I've had really good results with veg both mj and veggies under cflsnand t5's.

I figured for the next growth phase I'd use t5's. They have nice light banks available, generate almost no hear, and plants seem to grow to them. The other option here is sticking with cfl's once again.

Now onto the actual training section of the veg closet. (again, this point, 3 plants) I need these things to fill out the net, and there's a lo of options out there. Originally I was thinking t5's again but with side lighting. But inrecsntly put my test plant (under a 4X4 screen :D ) under my 400w hps (yes hps) it's loving it. So I was thinking maybe 250w mh(?) bulb.

Those are my 3 stages of growth, and the room I'm working with. Any suggestions on bulbs, and why would you choose to do that?

I was thinking of passively cooling it with a swamp cooler outside the room, that would feed the flower room, and have various fans.

Also I'm planning on doing it all hydro.

  2. i use t-5's for cuts and early veg. t-5's do generate a fair amount of heat. as with most tubes though, the lions share of the heat is at the end of the tubes.

  3. I'll keep that in mind. I'm not sure but in my experiments with t5 n cfl's the cfl seem to penetrate more.

    Any other thoughts, suggestions?
