    Hi guys-

I've been slacking a bit on getting this journal up and running but I finished up some security issues today and figured I'd put up a few pics of my little but rapidly expanding garden.

I've got approximately 135 square feet of garden space in the corner of my yard that has good southern and western exposure and receives sunlight just about all day. My fiancée has graciously allowed me about half of this space for me and my amigo to grow our medicine, the rest will be our vegetable, herb and fruit garden for our house.

Our house sits some 300 feet up a very gently sloped hill just above a river valley in a community south of SD, therefore the natural soil in my backyard is extremely clay-ey and very alkaline. I'd decided right off the bat that I wasn't even going to mess around with the stuff and trucked in a load of high quality nitrolized wood compost and organic planting soil composed of said wood compost, pumice and then amended with: alfalfa meal, neem seed meal, oyster shell meal, shrimp shell meal, kelp meal, a vegan seed meal mixture, some homemade ewc, and some agrowinn minerals to round things off.

Genetics we're playing with are currently as follows, with more to come... OG Kush clones x2, Sour Diesel clones x2, Candy Bubba bagseed x2 (1 appears to be female), Platinum Bubba Kush bagseed x1 (verified female), Blue Dream Mamma x1.

Our current plans are to start a cycle in my 4x4 dark room as soon as we can get mothers for the OG, Sour D, and Platinum Bubbs. We will then select 2 pants each to put in the ground for the loooong outdoor season. This will allow us to each flower 4 smaller plants per cycle in the tent while growing our beasts outside. I'm currently bringing everyone into the tent at night and back outside in the morning and it's a fair amount of work so I'm looking forward to getting everyone into their permanent locations.

That's about it for now, oh I almost forgot. I do hit everyone with a foliar tea 2x a week, generally in the morning and ALL my plants in the yard absolutely love it. It goes something like this: 1 gallon pure H20(no chlorine, salts, etc, etc...) 1.5 oz liquid kelp extract/ 1 oz fish hydrolysate/ 1 oz Dyna Gro Neem Seed Oil/ 1 oz Dyna Gro Pro-Tekt. It all goes in my backpack sprayer and I cover the leaves, stems and flowers of all the plants in the yard. I have zero pest problems, no anaerobic mold or powdery mold issues and the leaves on my plants feels almost like beef jerkey- super tough and beefy. Have a look for yourself. :D

I'll put some progress pics up in a week or so, fire away with any ?'s if you've got 'em.

    Blue Skies:cool:

  3. Thank you old friend, I appreciate it. I'd been lurking around for far too long, needed to get another project up to share with my fellow gardeners. I'm pretty excited about the new spot too, I've never been able to grow plants outdoors in the ground before so I've been eagerly prepping the yard in anticipation.

I should be picking up a few more cuts in the next week or so, I'll post an update when I do.

    Peace
