Outdoor Grow 2011: Biddy Early & Maroc

Discussion in 'Outdoor Grow Journals' started by aw69, Feb 15, 2011.

  1. Hey guys I've posted about a million thread on this but I wanted to start a thread for my grow this season. I'm brand new to outdoor growing but have been growing indoors for the past 2 years. I have read all the stickys on outdoor growing about 3 times each. The only thing I'm worried about is I read a lot for indoor too when I started but I killed 3 plants in the process of learning I finally have indoor down but wana know how to grow outdoor. So I'm growing in rhode island on my buddys farm, we bought 2 fem biddy early and 1 fem maroc seeds, I'm planting them in early may, what do you think?

  2. If you still have some indoor grow capabilities I would suggest starting them much earlier, to give you an idea why here's my plans for this grow season.

I already have two fem Vanilla Kush sprouted and up with the first set of leaves. After I get two more sets of leaves on each one, I will top them. Then after the new branches come out and reach maybe 6", I plan to take clones off each one. After the clones are rooted and growing one from each mother will then go into 12/12 light to flower just to make sure that the fem seeds run true, the other clones will be grown in preparation for transplanting after frost has passed.

This gives you a much better head start on the season as well as giving you more plants to grown and no question that you will spend your summer growing males. I plan to plant the mothers and the clones. IF I have enough clones I may also try 2 or 3 of them transplanted before the last frost date covered with milk jugs, if they don't make it that's ok since I have plenty more. But from my experiences putting vegetable plants out early, it is a risk but you do get an earlier or heaver harvest.

In most cases, yyzo is right on, but watch pregrowing the Biddy E too long indoors. If her roots touch the sides of the container she wont like it. Heat isnt appreciated either.

Its really a super nice strain though.

aw69, most guerillas will tell you that they always loose a few plants to wind, bugs, deer, theft, disease, law,... and the list goes on. Even if you get all 3 seeds germinated and growing well, youre only planting 3. Not much room for natural calamity there and the arithmetic suggest a real possibilty of failure. If only 2 seeds germinate and one of those is a misfit, you could falter even before you dig the planting holes. I hope you great success, but im just sayin....

There is an old guerilla rule: Plant 1 crop for the law, plant 1 crop for rippers, plant 1 crop for you.

  4. Haha thanks for the info. Id be happy if I had just one of three for me! :smoke: another thing I was thinking about was that I have 2 great spots and wanted to only stop by weekly because I heard the main noobie mistake is coming back again and again. So anyone know any really good cheap video cameras, and a water system I'm not by a river or water source but I can bring huge buckets of water weekly for like a drip system or something any ideas?

  5. Ok the seeds just came in, its still cold here but I was thinking about planting them in early may, anyone have a preference on soil mixtures or know any well designed drip systems so I don't have to revisit my spot daily??

  6. The seeds finally came in! I thought I had them last time I posted but they got lost in the mail and I moved, long story short there here! Now I'm starting them in 2 weeks so I really need you expert outdoor growers help because I need to know the best soil mixture and everything you can tell me because times running out in 2 weeks I'm goin to put them under lights until the last frost date. Please experts give me some feedback ill take anything!:D

  7. No one!?!

I need to buy the soil so I can germinate my seeds, I already have peat moss but need to buy organic fertilizer and others what's a great soil mixture in your opinion what brand of organic soil to???

  8. I've only done one grow and that was outdoor, I just started with potting soil 'cause I fed it anyway. I think if you've done indoor it should pretty much be a walk in the park for you, one thing though, you won't like how slow things go as apposed to indoor. I think indoor gets you 3 or 4 mos. growth in one calander month, outdoor, one month is one months growth. I'm sure you'll do fine :smoke:

  9. This year I want to do more LST earlyer than last. I only started doin' it last year 'cause she was getting big. I know more about the whole concept of it now but any tips on LST would be great.

  10. Second link under my signature + in the stickies ;)

  11. Alrite but does it matter by region? Because another RI grower said that I needed to put lime down because of my region, does it matter?

  12. Lime is to counter the peat's acidity. You use 5 cups per bale of peat. It's in the link lol. It's also used in swamp grows to counter the swamp's acidity.
No it doesn't matter with the region not that I know of.

  13. Alrite well with our order of 2 biddy early fem seeds and 1 maroc fem seed, we also got tnt kush fem, and venano fem, so we are going to have 5 plants this summer, I already started the venano and tnt kush today to see how they look and get a early start, I was thinking of doing all 5 early but I only have small pots and I heard biddy early doesn't like its roots to be confined.

  14. No one? I could use all the feedback from you guys if you could get your expert growers and everyone to subscribe. I will post pictures as soon as they sprout!:hello:

  15. If you can post pics, as many as you can it will help us all here to offer some advice.

Best of luck with your grow.

  16. Alrite and thank you very much for suscribing to my thread I will need all the help I can get from seasoned growers, right now I have TNT Kush and Venano in pots not sprouted yet in a soil mixture of 30% native soil, 40% organic miracle gro soil, and 30% peat moss. I still have (2) biddy early and (1) Maroc seeds all feminized. Would plant them all but don't have enough room so will plant those in 3 weeks. Will post pics as soon as they sprout! :hello:

  17. Great to see you got moved to here :hello:

Heaps of knowledge here to help you but we all need pics to see how it is going.

  18. Sprouted! Right here you see Venano feminized and TNT Kush feminised i started these two early so that they could get a jump start and be really strong. They are in a mixture of 30% peat moss, 50% organic soil, and 20* native soil. They are under lights 18-6. Tell me what you think or any other questions i need to answer. And also i have some full pictures with some tomatoes and cucumbers seedlings...:smoke:
