Best rapper of all time

  1. Yeah I suppose if you look at it like that, dunno gonna have to look again he might just be barely in my top 50:p

  2. Wasn't he the one saying that Kanye was the best in the game. Now he's top 20-25? What happened to GOAT?

  3. people talk so much shit about me at barbershops they forget to get they haircut!

haha i fuck with kanye hes sick. Bro #1 in the game is difference than alltime...btw

    Prodigy>bigL

  4. I don't think he'd crack my Top 100, maybe Top 200.

Top 5 producer hands down? Yikes.

    Dilla
    Primo
    Dre
    RZA
    Pete Rock

Putting Kanye ahead of any of those five should be a sin. I could easily name more, but those five should get the point across pretty well.... to people who appreciate real beats. Don't get me wrong I've always thought Kanye was a great producer, but Top 5 all-time is obnoxious. Top 10 I could live with... probably.

  5. kanyes better than dre lowkey. Hes so fucking good now shits crazy.

    Dilla
    Premo
    Kanye
    Hitek
    JustBlaze

I might have to re-look at my Hip Hop collection....yep I've already made a list of 30 that are better then him. I concede I was wrong.

    I agree he's top 10 as a producer though.

EDIT: I just thought of something. Going back to the Rap vs Beat thing for a sec I think about it like this. You don't have to be the most skilled to make a beat, in fact all you need is your hands and mouth, shoot I could tap my fingers on a desk right now and make a beat. Not trying to say that what Kanye or Premo do is bad, they're phenomenal at it. They're some of the best and that takes skill. But rapping is whole different animal, not everyone is a rapper. Not everyone is the best at it, some are downright awful. You actually need talent to rap, especially over a bad beat or no beat.

Perfect example right here, this guy cannot rap. He sucks not even a Premo Production can save him, but I bet he can get a good beatbox going ya feel me. I think Nas or Rakim or Black Thought or R.A. the Rugged sound great even on the shittiest of productions or no Production at all. I've just been much more impressed with lyrical content then Production, that's just how it is for me.

  8. I thought he was being compared to lil wayne?

  9. bro not everyone can make a beat thats bullshit. why do think people like dougie fresh and dillla and preme even standout ? dafuck

  10. Okay lets make a test here can you tap your fingers on a desk in a rhythm? There you go you just made a beat. Again like I said guys like Premo and Dilla are legends but I could make a beat with 0 equipment, but I can't make a rap on the spot. I just look at it from my perspective, its just my opinion on why I respect/like Lyrical talent over good production.

  11. just because you can make a beat doesn't mean its good. just like anyone can rap, doesn't mean its good.

  12. Whatever, I like lyrics over production. I like guys who can spit genius over the worst beats or no beat then a great production but a shitty rapper over it. That's just how I feel.:confused_2:

I like good rappers with good beats (thatshiphop).

Or else its wasted time...cuz im not going to listen to some shitty background music haha

    Rather just listen to poetry.

  14. Hip-Hop is poetry to a beat after all

He's better than Kanye, just sayin' :D

  16. OK lets test it spit some rhymes... there ya go you just made a rap. Anyone can rap, anyone can make a beat but it takes talent to do either well

  17. MVP - Most Valuable Poet

Hip-Hop is all about beats & lyrics, but beats didn't have the value they do today. Just like with technology, Beats evolved. We found other sounds, different ways, better software, better equipment.

Hip-Hop is about the lyrics IMO, because you can rap about nothing all day, but only true MCs can rhyme and flow, with a message worth listening to. I don't want to hear how "Ham" you're going, don't give a fuck about your chains, don't care how many bitches you fuck, that's only part of the music.

The other is the message. People don't care about it anymore. As long as you have a good beat and a decent hook these days, you're looked at as the best rapper alive.

If you think this, you are fucking stupid beyond belief.

  18. lyrics evolved the same as beats bro. You cant put down a producer because the rapper didn't come thru...example of anyone can rap, doesn't mean its good.

How has lyrics evolved? We use the same language, we just have a little different slang. Rappers has been doing the same shit since they start, of course they get more complex as they go, but nothing has changed.

Production is like people and cars. Kinda shitty at first, but now it's like space age shit. If you lived in 1920 and you told someone that Fords would be sold for $30,000 instead of like $500, people wouldn't believe you.

Same goes with beats and music production. It's evolved so much, people take that to better value then the actual lyrics now.

  20. Flow, worldplay punchlines all evolved.....you can mark it off as "more complex, but nothings changed" but its a change.

And ppl would believe me....500 dollars in 1920 was alot bruh.

There were good beats back then too. Just because you have a beef with rappers relying on amazing producers shouldn't mean you should down the producer brah.
