If it's GREAT hash it will light on the first or second attempt. The harder the piece of hash is to light, the more likely it is that you've been sold a 'lemon'. Once you've got your test piece of cannabis in flames, let it burn for a couple of seconds and blow it out. The embers should glow evenly like fine incense or a hot coal. The smoke it gives off should be milky white to blue gray with a heady, rich and sweet aroma. If you can smell rubber, this is never good, and is another excellent indication that you've been shafted.Once your hashish tester has burnt completely, you should look for a fine white ash. If it's too dark, this indicates contaminants. These can be anything from waste leaves to car oil. Around the ash, a ring of oil will form. Not really, no. There are too many variables, and any extraction technique is going to miss some cannabinoids. In my opinion... I would: Kief sift, remove the loose trichs with a mesh screen like OSG's kief tutorial. After that, run it through butane once or twice. After that, the rest of the bud can be either QWISO washed once, then used in edibles. Thats basically the only way to make sure you don't waste all of it. .Carbon, You asked about the turkey baster as an effective BHO container, I think it should be safe if the turkey baster isn't a type 6 plastic or a type 3. Find out the type of plastic and search it... The safest to use are HDPE and LDPE, imo.
Definately allow it to evap completely! Depending on what you used for a solvent, it might contain toxic additives.

This is not my tutorial, I found on another forum, posted by Mistergrowman. 1.Olive/Vegetable oil 2.Any amount of Marijuana 3.Something to well grind the marijuana 4.Heat source 5.Bowl (something to grind and mix the marijuana in) 6.Pill Capules (empty some vitamin capsules out) 7.Small spoon First, you prepare as much marijuana as you want as if you were going to smoke it. Then, you add enough olive oil, in a bowl, to saturate all of the marijuana. Add the marijuana to the oil. Grind the mixture for about a minute or so. Then, warm the mixture to about 100 degrees. After you have warmed the mixture, grind for 2 minutes( should be the consistancy of a paste). After this is all finished, let the paste cool down. Then, with a small spoon, fill the capsules with the paste. Take a few of these and you will be F*CKED up for a few hours (depending on how much you take. Keep in freezer for storage. Once I find a hookup near Minneapolis or Luck, I'm going to make quite a bit.
