i've been listening to a lot of 'livetronica' and 'jam bands' lately (i don't really like 'genrenizing' music...). towards the end of each semester we get into crunch time, and this type of music always gets me through. i've been listening to the usual sts9, eoto, pretty lights, big gigantic, and other similar artists. i just picked up a new cd of a local band called somasphere. i know a couple of these guys personally and have seen them play quite a lot. i know they've opened for all those bands i've posted above, as well as starting to headline around the region. this last year i'm pretty sure they were at wakarusa and they've been to other similar festivals, as well. they've got a sweet show and sound great together, and this new album is pretty bomb. you can listen to it here. if you like it you can download it, and i won't say whether or not you should donate - that's up to you. i did since they're local, good friends of mine and got a pretty dope sound. here is another of their pages with some older stuff. so, i'm curious - what similar type of stuff have you been listening to? post up your videos or recommendations, i need some more inspiration for the next couple weeks! stay toasty all.

great videos man! i think i've seen sts9.... 5 or 6 times, cant be sure. love their shows. saw eoto last fall - they come through my town 2 or 3 times a year. if you ever have a chance to, do it. saw them last year the night before halloween - craziest show of my life. they played from 8:50 till about 1:45, almost non stop. mike wore a big "ketchup" costume and jason wore a "mustard" costume. so. awesome. jammed out for nearly 5 hours.
