  3. Reppin the Paul Man.

Btw. I am related to the person that took this picture of Dr. Paul. I have the high res's around here somehwere.

  4. that is fucking priceless.

i'll say it, i'm not ashamed.....i'm stealing that one!

  5. How do you stop corporatism from prevailing when a libertarian government is in place?

  6. Corporatism is when there is a partnership between big government and big business. A libertarian government doesn't have the power to print money out of thin air, it can't fix prices through artificial interest rates, there are no corporate subsidies, no regulatory capture, etc... so the things that entice lobbyists just aren't there anymore.

Capitalism is where there is a partnership between business and consumers. If a business becomes "big" it is only because they satisfied consumers.

So capitalism is like direct democracy, and corporatism is like representative democracy. Instead of deciding which businesses we the consumers prefer, we elect people to choose the businesses for our economy. Consumers may make irrational decisions occasionally, but they aren't corrupt and they aren't evil like self-interested politicians are.

The prevailing theory among socialists as to why big business is bad is that once they dominate the market by satisfying consumers they can then turn on them and price gouge. This has never happened though, and if it did happen don't you think competition would be renewed?

On another note, does anyone know why my pic might have violated Photobucket's terms of use?

Interesting. Well, I've always liked Ron Paul, and he's most definitely the voice of reason for the right. Obviously, I lean left fairly heavily, but that's almost as much of a result of my contempt for the Republican party as it is my favoring of democratic ideals. I think Ron Paul could do a lot of good if he was elected president, but I also think a lot of people (mainly lower class) would suffer as a result of the reforms he would make.

The alliance that Paul and Nader discussed is a great idea IMO and gave me some hope. Neither party is serving the best interests of the American people right now, and more citizens need to wake up to that fact before it's too late. Libertarians and hard core liberals may have some major fundamental disagreements, but we also share a common enemy.

Edit- Oh, and I'm pretty sure it was because you used the word retarded.

  8. Short term definitely, we would all suffer. I don't think the poor would suffer the most though... the rich are propped up by this house of cards and the bigger they are the harder they fall.

You can't go on a heroine binge for 100 years and expect withdrawal to be easy. It's either we reform the system or we go out like other empires before us.

Ya maybe, that or "Halliburton" is private property or something. Bummer.

  10. Ron Paul is a fraud as far as I can tell. He simply talks and repeats what is already known. When people think there is someone in Washington that is keeping a watch on things and is "fighting" the system, the legitimate people give up their guard and dont take action. Its a VERY effective tactic.

Many of you will hate what i'm saying but its really not far fetched if you think about it. Our government has used all sorts of deceptive psychological tactics to keep the people from taking action. Dont underestimate. Atleast question the politician you have put so much faith in.

  11. You say he's a fraud? Prove it:devious:
I have posted videos from the 1970's where he is saying the exact same thing he's saying now. I can pull up his voting record to show what he's voted on vs what he says. I can pull up bills that he's written. What he's signed. Its all public record.

What can you pull up to back up your statement?

  13. Man, if this is YOUR proof that hes legit then you are being irrational. What a politician SAYS or VOTES doesnt really mean a damn thing, they are still a tool for the bigger agenda. He's been around since 1970 and all you can show is videos of him talking. He's not really fighting the system, if he was he wouldve been dead a long time ago. Someone like him will not get so deep into Washington unless they were part of the scheme themselves.

Its weird how so many Ron Paul supporters believe in all sorts of government conspiracies but will never fathom that Ron Paul himself could be a fraud.

  14. Well then he would be the greatest double agent the world has ever seen. And ya still gotta give him props:cool:
