Just another bag grow (Sog) Part II

I go to Home Depot and buy Vigoro All Purpose 10-10-10 for the Veg Cycle and Grotek Monster Bloom 0-50-30 for the Flowering Cycle and every other Watering I add a couple drops of Super-thrive.

I also buy at Home Depot cheap $2.47 potting soil and it has worked well for me in the past.

I am going to make a change to the nutes this round and gonna add unsulphered molasses during the flowering to see if the buds get fatter and taste better

 

I hope you harvest 168g (Double what your goal is)

I am going to use that lum meter to the fullest extent possible and try to keep the lums at 3000+ per foot and not let it drop below 2500 per foot without burning the plants

I am figuring the 25 as 1 oz per plant due to what I got from the previous grow useing 3 gallon planters and 400 watts.

This round my plans change hourly

I decided now to do 24 plants (1 per sq foot):

17 will be in 5 gallon hard plastic pots
7 will be in 3 gallon hard plastic pots

The veg time will still be the same for all but I want to see how much of a difference the yield will be using different sizes and containers

The 2 remaining seeds that was planted never broke ground and it looks like 1 of the 18 that did is not going to make it, so out of the new batch of seeds thats germinating the 3 will be replaced with new seeds and some additional seeds will be planted too

All the other 17 sprouts are hitting heights of around 2 inches now and showing 4 to 6 leaves, later today when the lights kick back on and my camera batteries are charged I will add some Porn to the thread

I am starting the Sog with 35 and figure by the time males are weeded out I hope to end with 24.

 

Today I am replanting new seeds on the two plants that did not break ground and the one plant that barely broke ground and never grew

The rest of the seeds that was germinating should have the tap roots showing in the next 24 to 48 hours and will be planted in 5" square planters and allowed to join the rest of the group.

Once the plants show the 3rd node or about 6 inches tall the lights will be switched to 400 Watt MH for 3 to 5 weeks of Veg Cycle.

If I find I am not getting enough Lums in Flowering Cycle I can always flip the switch on the 400 Watt to HPS Mode (Switchable MH/HPS Ballast)

 

Page 6 post #81 of my previouse grow shows the 24 inch box fan with carbon filter, it worked the whole way thru the grow and is currently running keeping the air clean.

I never bought the fan or carbon scrubber as planned but I did just get one in a trade this week

Top half of the 2 x 4 x 6 Home Made grow box thats going to be replaced with a 5 x 5 x 7 Grow Tent

This is the time its nice to have a couple of Hoods hanging around the grow

2000 ml pyrex used to mix nutes and to water the ladies I have another smaller 150 ml

I like to be semi accurate so I dont nute burn the ladies

 

The trade will allow me to grow 24 plants instead of 8 useing the same 1 plant per square foot rule

I used 3 gallon plastic planters in the last grow at 1 per square foot.

I picked up some plastic 5 gallon planters that are 10" bottom and 12" top that will fit into the same foot print and I hope to increase the plant size and yield by allowing the veg and flowering cycle to continue an extra week each

Sooner or later I will use the smaller planters to start a couple Tomato Plants and the rest Cacti, I got the seeds already, I am just too damn lazy to get them started

 

My current work schedule wont allow me to get the tent started until around Tuesday of next week, I will have a couple days off and will set it up, then I can keep an eye on things and get everything dialed in properly

 

I have a 3 day weekend work week where I get my 40 hours from Friday Night to Monday Morning and have the rest of the week off

Currently there is 18 - 1 = 17 Sprouts

9 seeds planted this afternoon that had tap roots showing

20 more seeds in germination waiting on tap roots.

I want 10 more to show tap roots to plant and then I will move on to worrying about the Veg Cycle

To avoid confuseing new people reading the thread I am going to edit from the 1st post whats actually going on now

The 100 Watt MH was not covering the plants well enough for them all to get light and I saw some stretching of the stems so I removed the 100 MH and put the 400 Watt HPS in its place.

I set the light about 12 inches above the plants and it looked like a couple was starting to get burned after a couple hours so I raised the light to around 16 inches away

I took a Lumen's reading at 16 inches and it was showing between 14,000 to 16,000 at the tops of the plants.

The babies are really spreading their leaves out and a few are sporting 6 leaves, hopefully soon they will start a new node.

If all goes quite well this round I do have plans on getting some Grand Daddy Purple Seeds from a Seed Bank
