    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcqPq5189VQ]YouTube - Hard Scary hip-hop beat {rap} Instrumental[/ame]

    Or just music you like to jam too, share it with us. :smoke:

  2. im a drummer, i like jamming hawkwind, the first arctic monkeys album, queens of the stone age and a lot of drum n bass is fun to drum too

  3. alternative rock drummer I see? Thats tight man

  4. :wave:

    I've been playing drums for 8 years now. If you really want a challenge, check out the band Rush. Neil Peart, their drummer, is incredible. There's a Rush Appreciation Thread here in the Music Hall with plenty of their songs, or you can search for "Rush" or "Neil Peart" on YouTube.

    My username comes from the title of a Rush song, actually....

    i just play to disco biscuits or my band...ive been playing for 10 years next month

  6. 8 years? You must be good man, what style do you play?

    I wish I could cover one of neil's songs... Maybe if he wouldn't have soo many damn drums, I can manipulate his style... He is one of the best drummers though.

  7. I haven't really been in a band, but I usually play along to some Rush or Led Zeppelin or Queen...mostly classic rock. But I also played drums at my old church's contemporary worship service for four years, which was (not surprisingly) mostly contemporary Christian music. And then I played for a little while with this singer-songwriter-pianist guy I met through church, and his songs were more soft rock. So I like to branch out and try my hand at a bunch of different styles.

  8. Thats awesome man! I always wanted to play for a church, but just never got the time to go and ask... How was it playing for them?

    I play drums for my school's jazz band, its funny how are instructor is agenst marijuana but he teaches a music genre that was revolved around it...

  9. I'm in my high school's jazz band right now, and I'm pretty sure that our instructor has come in baked more than a few times.:D Especially we have that class first thing in the morning.

    I dunno if you've ever listened to Avenged Sevenfold, but a lot of their stuff is fun to play. It's challenging, but not so hard that you can't figure it out.

  10. dude got Tourettes.....

    I hate Neil Peart

    Danny Carey of Tool is much better IMO..

    He puts more of his soul into his music.

    Haha, thats awesome!! I know of are instructor drinking but I dont think he smokes...

    @the dingusus
    That was pretty funny, I like how he just has a barrier? Is that the word for it..? Idk, but that was random to have in a coffee shop lol.

    @Vodakna
    Congrads on learning the cowbell beat man haha :smoke:

    @echoe09
    I dont think you hate him, for he has no reason to be hated for... I just think you dont like his style. Almost like people hate certain football teams right? lol. Carter beauford is good, i like his style.

  14. are.

    You're right, I don't hate him as a person but I hate him as a drummer.

    I love Dannys and Carters styles and I try and incorporate them I to my playing.. Butthats do hard to do because they are soo damn good and it's hard to play dannys stuff after I've been playing open handed for such a long time.

    Here is a pic of my set.

  15. DAMN! Cool set man, I see your a man of sound quality not name. What i mean by that is you dont buy cymbal packs, you buy individual cymbals that you like. But might i ask why you have two hats on the same side?

  16. Haha, good one! Read Neil's books, and then tell me Danny puts more soul into his music. (BTW, I love Danny as a drummer.) Aside from your view of Danny putting more sould into his music, what else makes you hate Neil?

    Yes, I am a drummer. Have been so for about 12 years now.

    EDIT
    Just saw the pic of your kit. Looks sweet! Specs??

    The two rock drummers who never cease to amaze me:

    Jimmy Chamberlin
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuGz0M3Nw-s]YouTube - Jimmy Chamberlin Complex : Streetcrawler[/ame]

    Damon Che
    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eDYl_OOcrgA]YouTube - Stupid Puma - Don Caballero[/ame]

    Hate me for saying this if you want, but Danny from Tool borrows heavily from Neurosis (and this is not just something I came up with). Same with their live visuals, tribal drumming etc. He gets too much credit where it's not due. I mean I wouldn't go out of my way to knock him, because he's undoubtedly skilled, but I certainly wouldn't put him up on a pedestal either.

  18. my sis runs a home for all kinds of people with disabilities....that dude just came and preformed for them a few days ago.....she came home and had me watch him....

    he will play on anything!!!!

    Thanks, I love paiste but have picked up a couple zildjians lately, got rid if those horrid z3's and picked up some K customs. Those hybrid hats are awesome! And both those hats on the same side because they just don't fit on the other side unless I get a new hihat stand and I can't afford one.

    Just do not like his stuff.. Idk it doesn't sound good to me and makes me irate idk why.

    Big set:
    Pearl Masters Custom Maple (sounds beautiful)
    8"x8"
    10"x10
    13"x10" love this one
    16"x16"
    18"x16"
    22"x20" virgin bass with SKII or eq3

    Pearl free floating snare maple 6ply 14"x6.5" with Geneva HD dry over hazy 300

    Cymbals..

    Hihats:
    13.25" zildjian K custom hybrid hats
    14" Zildjian A custom projection hats
    14" Pearl 300zx (piece of crap)
    10" Zildjian A custom splash
    16" Meinl MB10 crash
    17" Zildjian A custom Crash brilliant
    18" Paiste signature Crystal Crash (I fucking love it)
    20" Sabian x20 rock ride ( not a fan)
    20" Zildjian A custom ride (too pingy and heavy)
    21" Zildjian A custom Sweet ride ( I love it but bell isn't loud enough)

    I'm forgetting some cymbals cause I don't use them as often.

    Oh sabian 20" AA ride (secondary ride on left hand side)

    I love my sets (also have a Ludwig in the garage) but it's expensive.
