How early can you flower

  1. Just found out im going to be on vacation in the middle of November, meaning everything has to be wrapped up by then.

Im wondering how early you can get plants to flower. My plants are about 8 inches tall, and want to give it 6-8 weeks for flowering.

Is this too early, or will it just be a small harvest?

  2. you can flower whenever. 12/12 from seed is proof

  3. Ya you can just trigger flowering with 24 hours of darkness and changing your light spectrum/ schedule.

  4. well as the two posts above stated, yes you can induce flowering at any time. the 24 hours of darkness is not needed. here is what you have to consider though, is how long is the flowering time for your strain? some are 8-10 weeks. some are 10-12 weeks and so on. you will need to observe your trichomes for when to harvest accuratley anyways. also you are aware that your plant will double or even triple in size after inducing flower right? if not you need to look at how big your grow area is and how much of a light source you are planning on growing with. this will help you determine how long your veg period should be. most of veg growth is width, and most of flower is height. so imagine if your plant was 2 to 3 times taller, would that still fit your grow area? if not, then go ahead and veg now. also since your going to need 8 weeks or more of flowering, you need to flower now anyways. you might be cutting it short since most people do not start counting flowering untill the plant starts showing sex and females take about 2 to 3 weeks to show sex depending on strain. all in all, if you start flower now by changing your light schedule to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark and you harvest a few weeks early, your plant will still get you high, but the high will not be as strong as it could be, and it might be more of a head high then a body high, since thats the way that trichs develope. hit me up if you want any more indepth info and its a good idea to get a good grow mentor to help you

  5. Plus you need time for harvest/curing.
