    :smoke:Hey all,

Just starting my 3rd grow and decided to start a grow journal for the first time, I hope you will all enjoy. First off I want to say that this is a medical grow and I will be concentrating on producing the highest quality herb possible, rather than yielding the most product. This will be an SOG grow, well I won't be flowering clones immediately, they will be getting 10-14 days of veg, but I dont think it will be too tough to get an 1oz per plant under 1000w HPS. I just got an 8 bulb SunBlaze T5 setup, cant wait to start veggin new clones 30 days into flower on this grow. Anyways, I will be sticking with Roots Organics nutes with a couple exceptions since I already have a ton of other nutes. I subsituted Pirhanna for the Roots Oregonism, General Organics Liquid Kelp rather than Extreme Serene, and Budswell rather than HP (HP is just high P guano anyways). Plants are sprayed with Neem Oil every 3 days up until 10 days into flower, then I switch to ladybugs (Soma stylee).

    So here's the setup:

16 plants total - 11 LA confidential and 5 LSD. LA Cons were from Oaksterdam LA, the LSD from a local club. Dont ever buy clones from a club unless you know the owner and grower, or they come HIGHLY recommended. I have a friend who owns a club in LA and gets clones for me from Oaksterdam, otherwise I'd grow from seed. Clubs here on the Central Coast of Cali, SUCK for clones. Seriously, dont do it, my two cents...

Insulated light tight room in attic 7x6x6 Panda Wrapped

Roots Organics Soil and Nutrients (25% Perlite addded)

1000w Hortilux MH/HPS in Air Cooled XXL Hood

6" inline 445 CFM fan drawing outside air through hood

8" inline 755 CFM exhaust fan with medium sized carbon filter

4" powered intake w/ hepifilter drawing outside air (exhaust fans cycle on and off every 8 minutes, they remain on for 2 minutes)

    12,000 BTU Dual Hose A/C

3x3 tray and 2 oscillating fans

Room stays between 75 and 81 deg during lights on with around 40-55% humidity

I just transplanted all 16 babies into 2 gallon pots and put them under the 1000w MH. They started in 2" rockwool where they were transferred to Solo cups with Roots Organics soil for 10 days. I'll keep them under the MH for 10-14 days before flipping to HPS. Since they were just transplanted again, I'm going to wait 7 days before they get a feeding, in order not to burn them. Check the pics and I look forward to all of your comments.

  2. Well, I guess nobody is interested. Guess I ll keep this one to myself.

  3. Everything sounds spot on!!....You will be happy with the roots-organics soil and nutes.

I would suggest using their entire line(grow, bloom, trinity and hpk) with the exception of the Roots Oregonism which is way spendy. You can do better with Mycoboost and has the correct endos roots need and $20.00 a pound....
Roots-Organics soil has mycrohize added but, I would add more to the soil and let cook before you transplant and sprinkle some on the roots when transplanting...

Either way you should do well and have good knoweldge for the next grow....:)

  4. You have a gnarly setup man. The LSD is great, and I've heard the L.A. is supposed to be even better. Should be a fun grow for you.

  5. Really likin the setup

youll definitely get the harvest your wanting ;)

and the lsd oughta blow your mind

I was getting the feeling nobody was interested in my journal haha, but i'm glad I got some followers. Nothing more gratifying than literally seeing the fruits of your labor. I'll have some more photos up tomorrow or Sunday to show the progress as well as some better shots.

Colafarmer - I went ahead and got the entire line last week, I;ve heard very good things about the Roots nutrients (used their soil and was very happy).

Sam and 420 Man, thanks for the words of encouragement, I'll keep you all posted.

    Until the weekend....

  7. So I went ahead and gave them their first dose of Nutes at 1/4 strength today (day 7)and supercropped a couple of the LSDs. Everyone LOVED the nutes and all the cropped plants righted themselves within a couple hours. So far everything is going according to plan and I ll post some more pics mid week when the growth is more noticeable.

  8. Alright here's a pic from 9/21 and things are going well, except I ran into some powdery mildew (I think) so I finally got my 45 pint duhumidifier running. The west coast has been caked in fog allll summer so it has been unseasonable humid, spiking to 65% in my room. Room has been locked in at 75deg and 42% humidity for the last 24 hours.

Some pics below, I ll have more up as I put some metal racks on top of my tray and put the plants on it to spread them out a bit. More airflow, plants spread out, dehumidifier, so shit BETTER be ok now.

    Hi Sarge,

I moved your thread from organic cultivation to organic grow journals where it belongs. The organic guys here will sign on and take the ride with you as your grow plays out.

So far, it looks like you've got a great start and I'll be subscribing to keep up with your details. With the system you've got, it looks like we'll be in for a pleaasnt surprise come harvest time.

Sending good vibes for a prosperous grow and welcome to Grasscity!

    Take care bro,

There are crazy things happening here with humidity lately so I finally installed my 45 pint LG dehumidifier that I found super cheap on Overstock 6 months ago. I think I paid $140 shipped, anyways...So yes, the dehumidifier works very well, however, it was a MAJOR pain in the ass to run power for it. I was a the limit of power possibilities in the room, so I had to run a 50' extension cord through the attic, a string of cupboards, 2 walls, a closet and the floor, but it fucking worked. I had to drill a total of 12 holes, aquired a fatty burn on my arm from the 2" hole type drilling attachment that was on top of the ladder as i climbed up, and nearly impaled my ass on a chair I was standing/falling off of. The room never gets above 45 percent RH now, but I do have to change the resevoir twice a day. I was floored at the amount of water that thing pulls out of the air, it's truly amazing. I ll post some new pics tomorrow, as I'll be flipping to 12/12 tonight or tomorrow night.
Oh and the possible powdery mildew issue seems to be under control.

  14. Well KEWWWWWWWWWLLLL! Im'a watching and pulling for ya Sarge! I hope you pull better than an ellbee!

Save that water your pulling outta the air and use it for your plants watering needs. They will be very happy! A 5 gal bucket works muy bueno!

  15. What was the humidity at before you installed the LG?

  16. It was getting upwards of 68-70 percent, but on average it was 60% even with exhaust on. Like I said it was unseasonbly cold and wet this summer in Cali, but finally got some sun today. Going to flip to 12/12 today so I will take some photos.

Just flipped the light cycle, c'mon sweet sweet red spectrum. Well, I think I finally have things dialed in...Humidity taken care of by the LG dehumidifier, plants are spread out, HPS in place, and powdery mildew seems to be under control. Just gave them a dousing of neem oil for one of the last times, then it's ladybugs from here on out. I reall hope these guys dont stretch too much in early flower as I only have about another foot of space. I can get the light sooooo close to thse plants tho, especially the HPS, i can touch the glass and leave my hand there with no issues, so hopefully the height restrictions wont be too big of a problem. More to come...

    Pics below. :smoke:

  18. BTW, the childrens got a total of 19 days of veg. They are currently 14" tall

  19. i'm sitting in, cann't wait to see more!

  20. After all the talk of being cold and humid on the central coast, yesterday it was 106 deg until 8 PM. Luckily I took work off becuase around 2 oclock my AC started tripping the breaker every 5 min. This went on until 9 PM, and the inside of my room was upwards of 103 deg ! ! I sprayed them down 4 or 5 times with cold water and a good watering with their first dose of flowering nutes seemed to do wonders for them. As of early this morning all seems to be well.

    more pics to come.
