  1. Can marijuana grow in Miracle Grow Orchid Potting Mix? It says it will feed plants for 3 months. Has anyone tried this?

  4. killab, a lot of people on here, including me, have grown in MG with ferts in it and the experience has been that it can and has burned a lot of plants. If you use their soil, get their organic stuff WITHOUT ferts in it. The first two weeks after a plant has sprouted, they need no ferts. After that, they should get weak dilution rates until they get bigger and stronger. Of course, in the first month of vegging they need more Nitrogen. After that, from 5-12 weeks they need other nutrients for flowering and budding. NOrmally there is far too much Nitrogen in MG soils and you can have issues.

Best is to get some GOOD soil and buys ferts that you apply. There is lots of good sticky's on here about ferts/nutes, etc. Have fun.

    JaK

  5. listen to this man, he knows whats up.

  6. The other thing to worry about with MG soil is that it comes stock with bugs. Almost always will they have fungus gnats. I swear as soon as you add water these little pests will be flying around in no time even the organic stuff.

  7. While most do not recommend MG, I had no problems with it. I didn't realize until reading here that is was frowned upon. I just harvested 3 delicious oz from my MG using CFL but I have switched to coco now.

  8. Orchids don't grow in soil. They are epiphytes, and anchor themselves to trees. Orchid mix usually contains large pieces of bark, charcoal & sometimes moss. I've grown orchids and can say for sure that you don't want to use orchid mix for MJ.

And it is better to stay away from soil with pre-mixed nutes. You have no control over it. Just get a good quality soil without the nutes mixed in, and some perlite for drainage.

  9. OMG .. I'm really worried about this same issue. My babies are only 4 days old, looking very green, getting their second leaf-sets, but now with occasional watering I'll see one of those bastards.. little winged beasts.. thought it was coming from somewhere else in the room.. Any ideas on safe eradication without harming my plants?? Every time I chase one down, squash em.. I see another little bugger and I can't let this get worse! Any tips/thoughts appreciated! Using MG Organic.
