How do you tell if a 1000 watt hps bulb is burnt out????

I have a closet set up with a 1000 eye hortilux super hps bulb,,digital switchable 1000 watt ballast. all new. Ive ran 2 weeks, and now my bulb dosent fire up. I can hear the ballast clicking trying to ignite,,,,but nothing is happening. How can I tell if the bulb is burnt????
