Does altitude effect plants?

  1. Hi Guys,

I am currently at 4000 feet plus above sea level. Does this kind of altitude have a negative effect on seedlings/ plants?

I want to grow indoors with hydro and H.P.S. temps will hopfully be "normal".

    Thanks Everyone.

    anyways
altitude does have some affect the air is thinner so the plant may grow slower but im sure it will be fine.

    Thank You Defspec.

I'm new in this area, and after going for a long walk, and watching weeds and plants around the house, things do seem to be growing slower than they would at sea level,( I brought some house plants with me,( NOT weed.) Also, it's coming into winter , and it's a good deal colder here than where I came from.

So I guess what I'd ask is: Will cranking up the heat in the growroom solve the problems, (so far I've had very slow/bad germination results,) or is there still a penalty for growing in higher altitudes.

    Thanks again,

    Bube

  4. It's more about how thin the air is. Shouldn't be a huge deal though.
