  5. Its gotta be Nas. I don't really think anyone else but Biggie comes close.

  6. brotha lynch and biggie

  7. LOL.

Please stop calling Immortal Technique "great", especially "greatest". He's above average, and has a few good songs.

Also, Biggie should not be called the greatest rapper ever, considering he has 3 albums. Not to say he's not great, he's certainly not the greatest.

Nas is probably the best ever, maybe Eminem, Too Short, Ice Cube, E-40, DJ Quik, and Redman.

If you ever considering posting Lil Wayne, you have no idea what hip hop is.

  8. Biggie
    Nas

    Big L
    NOT WAYNE

  9. outkast. i know its not one person but big boi and andre3000 are amazing, esp atliens one of my favorite albums of all time

  10. honestly prolly little wayne :D

for real tho this question is soo hard to answer with just one person. ill do the top 3 and with my reasoning behind it

2pac - because his words are like poetry. and even after he died, hes had what 7 albums? i know another one is coming soon too. he had soo much music and all of it can still be relevent wen they put out a cd of it in 2009. thats why hes the best

rakim - because of his lyrical ability. and for the fact he innovated the game basically. people studied rakim to study his flow, his wordplay, everything. look at it like this. rakim is basically the reason rappers rhyme more than once in one line, and was rele the first person using metaphors that had like 2 meanings to it.

jay-z - another innovative rapper. his wordplay and lyrics are bit by almost every rapper now a days. and plus hes a mogul. hes now a standard for that along with diddy and 50. people will always compare rich rappers to them dudes.

as for biggie, i dont think he really deserves it because he did really only have 3 albums. that just bothers me for some reason, u know? pac had 5 by the time he died. and then 200 after.

as for big l, same kinda thing with biggie, his career wasnt rele long enough cuz he too had to die at such a young age.

  11. I would have to say Tech N9ne.

  12. There are a bunch of "best" rappers, in my opinion...

2Pac - I would consider him the best of the best, if you will, because not only could he tell stories with his rhymes, he also had a very personal side that he shared. He was gangster rap, he was conscious rap, he was a poet, he was a story teller, he was 2Pac.

Eminem - In terms of overall success, lyrical ability and great at both freestyling and studio songs (something very hard to accomplish), he is pretty much the poster child of what a rapper should be.

Jay-Z - Opinions may differ, but in my opinion he was the biggest rapper to ever come out of New York, and probably the East Side in general. He was one of the first to write songs in his head and spit them out like he was reading them off of paper. He had arguably the best CD ever made in Reasonable Doubt and has only had one real mediocre album in Kingdom Come.

Nas - An amazing lyricist with absolutely crazy storytelling. The only thing that knocks with Nas is that he has a tendency to stay the same on every song, and a great rapper needs to be able to switch up their vocals.

Biggie - I wouldn't say he's the best ever, but he definitely could have been a HUGE icon in rap had he never been killed.

Big L - It's always hard to pick "favorites", but I think I would have to give the edge to Big L as the best lyricist to ever live. This guy could spit bars like a fucking penitentiary, I swear.

Now those are like the elite right there in my opinion, but I see two artists that can potentially (and hopefully) reach that elite level one day. These rappers are Blu (of Blu & Exile, Johnson&Jonson) and Lupe Fiasco. I'm hoping Lupe doesn't retire because he's a killer emcee all around and Blu is probably the best "blue collar" rapper there is. Just a guy spitting about real shit going on in people's lives.

  13. gza the genius

  14. sooo true my vote also

  15. Optimus Rhyme. :D

  16. This, because everyones opinion only matters to them.

  17. It's jay Z to me, his untold fortune and his connections to Freemasonry put him at the top of my List. For some odd reason i did not become a full fledged Jay fan until I heard D"evils, I am so deliciously Evil muah ha ha (evil laugh).:devious:

  18. This is going to add a lot of grief in the threads, I think, but after thinking about it, T.I. and Ludacris have to be up there. Luda's got 7 albums out and tons of guest spots, and nearly every bar he spits is solid. T.I. is good, started off rapping about street shit, and now raps about other things, so he's really evolved in the rap game.

Bun B is also deserving of a mention, and Andre 3000 is cool, but we'll wait for his solo to see how good he really is. Lupe is getting there, he's got 2 good albums and various mixtapes that I enjoy.

Ya Boy is an upandcomer, he's been rapping for a while now, but hasn't reached national limelight. Wiz Khalifia is a great lyricist, and will probablby be the next Lupe type rapper.

  19. Luda's good, but not the greatest.
    TI? Hardly...

I've honestly never fully listened to Nas, so I'm gonna have to go with biggie, just cause he's my favorite.
