Bone Meal Question?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by BungaJack, Jun 26, 2009.

  1. Well i went out and bought some bone meal and was wondering do i wait and use it when they start flowering or can i use it now. I have been giving them blood meal ever week in a tea. This bone meal i have is 0-12-0. and the blood meal is 15-0-0. They haven't started flowering yet.

  2. For outdoor gardens, I would always dig holes then place an inch to 3`` of bone meal at the bottom of the hole the plant is in. Then when the roots reach this layer they have a huge boost of phosphorus. Good luck.

  3. ok, what if the plants in the ground already?

  4. Easy mix the bonemeal with water....then water them.

  5. I thought i read somewhere on here that u want to use blood meal durin veg and bone meal during flowering. But i guess the way it sounds i can give them both. Is there any way that the bone meal could burn them? And how much to a 5 gallon bucket?

  6. what about the blood meal, iam a new grower, how much blood meal should i mix with a gallon of water?:hello:

  7. well the rule of thumb is to mix 1/4 to 1/2 the recommended dosage.

Oh and blood meal is just a pure nitrogen supplement. If ur leaves looking a lil light green give them some and they will darkin in green.

  8. I grow outdoors and always have. When I plant my seedlings in the ground I always dig deeper and wider then I need by a long shot. Then add Bone Meal, Blood Meal and Worm Casting's and mulch. I blend it up good...then add some more dirt/mulch on top so the roots of my seedlings don't get close to it yet...that way, when they get going the roots hit this mixture and BAM!!!!!!!!!!! they go nuts...I also use the Fox Farms three part nutes...Grow Big, Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom...Hope this helps....my .2cents at least...

  9. Bone meal, blood meal, bat guano, etc. are not intended to be dissolved in water. I'd recommend mixing a handful into the top few inches (3-4) around the plant at this point. Next time, mix your fertilizer into the soil mix before you plant.

  10. thanks for the help! abd ive got one more probally dum question what does fish emultion do for a plant how much should i give it?

  11. i mix like 4 spoonfulls of bonemeal in a gallon of water and shake it for a few min.
then water my plants with 1 gal each every other time i water.
u gotta give em plain water in between feeds because theres always some left over the plant didnt take in.... u wanna make sure it eats it all before you overfeed.

  12. As Oldskool said I don't think they're soluble (I never tried myself) but as toppings they work real well and won't attract animals as they can in the soil.

  13. Only thing is neither of them contain K. You really do need to add some of that. See my NPK link below.

  14. Where's the link?

  16. I made 50ltrs bags up did this..

added 25ltrs for first half with bone meal and then second half was with blood meal, i will cut bag from underneath and let it fill hole so bone meal at bottom etc.

  17. I am growing a few plants myself and I use bone meal. I know that cannibis is not the same as roses or ****** however it did wonders for fuller vegetative and flowering growth with plenty of water and light. Just add to the soil and soak it in or add to your water (if you can only get tap water go buy a brita faucet thingy for clean water or build a rain catch) bannana peels if dried and ground into a meal will work wonders as well and if you want a good flavor add a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of all natural juice of your choice to your water once a week for the vegetative state. I always liked experimenting so if you get High grade seeds do not experiment but the shit you get in the projects you can experiment with all you want.
