I put together a simple, hopefully easy to read and well organized guide on how to grow cannabis. It is geared toward absolute beginners who literally have no idea where to even start or what they need to do to have a successful grow. It includes all the basics on lights, light cycles, nutrients, sexing, pH, soils, strains, flushing, harvesting and so on, and even goes through a week by week series of pictures for an entire grow. I tried to not include too much information to overwhelm the average reader too, and it does not go into any advanced techniques (just a simple soil closet grow from seed). While it may not be perfect, I think it provides a good reference for beginners who have the means to start a simple and productive grow.

Here is the introduction to the guide:

A couple years ago I decided I was tired of calling up random people that I hardly knew,
pretending to be their long lost friend and asking the notorious question, “Hey man, can I
get some bud from you?” What if my ‘friend' didn't have any? Would I call someone I
knew even less? Would I go without bud for an indefinite amount of time? After two
years of doing this, I decided enough was enough. The endless quest to get bud from
unknown origins was over. I wanted to grow my own. I vowed I would never get into
the business of growing and selling, that it would be only for personal consumption and
for friends when they came over to have a toke or two. Two years later, I have not
bought a single gram of weed off the black market in that time, and I have not sold a
single gram to anyone. I always have weed, and plenty of it. I smoke when I want to, as
much as I want to, and with whomever I want. No one knows I grow, so no one asks for
    bud from me. It's perfect.

Now maybe you want to do the same. You've always stared at those seeds from your bag
of mids and wondered, “Can I actually grow my own weed from this seed?” Believe it or
not, the simple answer is yes. But if you are anything like I was, you know nothing about
marijuana other than it's a lot of fun to smoke. So where the hell do you start? The
amount of information on the net can be painfully overwhelming, occasionally incorrect,
and is often geared toward people who already have some growing experience. Books
are a great way to start (search Amazon), but here I have attempted to boil everything
down into as few details as possible while not over simplifying it. My guide is geared
toward people who live in their own apartment or house, have a spare closet that would
be ideal for growing a plant or two at a time, and have a couple hundred dollars to spend
on a simple, yet very productive and safe setup. Although a couple hundred dollars may
sound like a lot, the end result will justify the means. In other words, your couple
hundred dollar investment will yield you thousands and thousands of dollars worth of
marijuana over the next year that you won't have to buy. Keep in mind that I will not
discuss hydroponics (because I know almost nothing about it), cloning, LST'ing nor any
other advanced techniques. Simplicity is key.

This guide will first discuss some basic background information you should know about
the cannabis plant before you try to grow it. We will then dive into the finer details and
show you a simple grow from start to finish.

Click here to download the pdf, or download from the attached file (just got it to work! 3/18/10). If anyone has a better file hosting option, I'd love to put it up somewhere where it'll be a little more accessible without advertisements and such. If the link fails, please let me know and I can reup it again.

Also, I welcome any and all input to the guide! :)

  2. gonna download and check this out i have 2 small cfls right now on one plant its about 4in tall now ive been learning a lot on these forums thanks for the guide

  3. Before i go downloading this, would it help a new Outdoor grower at all???

  4. it's pretty much geared only towards indoor growing unfortunately. i've never done an outdoor grow, but the same general principles could apply i imagine.

  5. Thats what i was thinking, but im guessing the ferts will be the same(ish), and thats pretty much all i really need to know more about.

  6. Excellent guide! looks like you spent a hell of a time putting all of this together. PROPS dude! Rep+

  7. Thanks man...

This is exactly what I needed to get going.

  8. thanks man. yeah i spent a little time putting that together. i did it because i really wished i had something like that when i first wanted to learn to grow. hope it helps you.

Great write up. There is so much info on this site that it can get a little confusing some times. It's nice to have one place to look to answer all the important questions. Thanks:hello:

EDIT: How much did you end up getting off the plant at the end of the PDF?

  10. Jeez, not ANOTHER how to grow your weed guide. (But I have no idea about outdoors.)

Do we really need YET ANOTHER INDOOR ONLY guide that tells us NOTHING that is not already available in the stickies?

    Second one this week !!

then don't read it. obviously this post has no relevance to someone like you, so what's the point in coming in here to shit on it especially when a couple of beginners have already said they clearly have a use for it. it's not as if this post/guide inconvenienced you at all anyways. this is also strange coming from the guy who links several of his own mini-guides in his sig, much of which i'm sure can be googled, read in books or found elsewhere online...yet that still doesn't mean your links are useless.

did you even bother to read it before you judged it?

    -rep.

  12. thanks dude, glad it was of some use. i just weighed the dried bud from that plant and it was 2.5 ounces from her. :D

  13. I think it's a great guide.Sure, there may be a number of grow guides, but they're all different in certain aspects and none can be said to be more useful than another.
Thanks for taking the time to make this for us. I'd +rep you but I know my rep isn't worth shit yet, so the next bowl's for you instead.

  14. glad you liked it dude. and i agree, while there are lots of grow guides around, each one is slightly different and has its own strengths and weaknesses. i tried to gear this one towards people with similar goals as myself, which not all guides are meant to do.

  15. Thanks man...I've been wanting to get into growing, and need all the info that I can! :hello:

Nevermind, the link ended up working after I gave it some time. Reading it right now and it seems pretty good so far :)

  17. Got the time to read through your guide thoroughly and it had a lot of great information that I'll definitely use in the future whenever i can get my dreams of growing started. Thanks alot! :)

  18. glad you liked the guide man, and that you were able to download it. keep us updated on any grows you do...GC likes to see some good bud porn, particularly homegrown. :D :smoking:

  19. Thanks a lot for the PDF man, it's definitely what I needed.
I have been researching for myself but this is probably the best thing I've found that summarizes all aspects.

I have 2 40 Watt fluros do you think that will be enough to start some seeds and maybe go into Flowering? It's a small closet that can maybe hold 1 standing person in it so it's not big at all.

  20. Course I did,

    and your -rep is returned.
