northeast outdoor grow

  1. I have recently started a new outdoor grow. 12 plants have already been put outside. There have been 2 rounds of seedlings. Of the first round only 6 plants are still inside and the intention is to sex them before putting them out. Last week 20 seedlings were transplanted to larger containers. I have two 4ft flourescents and two 2ft florescent ballasts. A fan is constantly circulating the air and allowing stems to get stronger. Any suggestions on sexing and when they should be put out. My thought was waiting till days were getting shorter which is after June 21, some people say i should get them out as soon as possible. Sexing will not be finished til the end of May. All the new seedlings will be put out in 2-3 weeks and will not be sexed. I have dug a cubic foot holes and filled with an organic potting soil mixture. No fertalizers have been used and i may make it a totally organic grow. Check out the pics let me know what you think

  2. Very nice this is pretty similar to my grow (cept you got a much better head start on it my biggest aren't nearly that big.)

There are plenty of organic ferts you can use.. even things you can buy at big box stores like walmart or home depot.. organic compost is good for this stage or russian comfrey.. When choosing ferts use something high in Nitrogen for this stage (N of NPK rating found on ferts)

Are the plants you put outside as large as the ones you have there?? those are healthy looking plants and i'd say right about the right size for you to be able to sex them and throw them in the dirt..

Good luck with this i'm sure if you keep at it you'll get a good amount of dankity.

  3. I have only put the smaller plants outside, there is maybe 2 outside that are as large as the big ones in the picture. All the plants outside seem to be doing well. A couple that were put out the other day have not grown very much, i believe they may be in shock cause this is the first time they have been outside for an extended period of time. Some of the plants have been outside for almost 2 weeks now, and those have definitely grown. Havent had any problems with animals and bugs really besides a few leaves that have been eaten a little. Im not too worried about the ones outside dying or not. If i can sex the plants inside soon enough i am going to try and take clones off of females to put out alot more females. I am going to look into some organic fertalizers today. I have left the containers on the plants outside, but have cut the bottoms out of them. Does anyone see this as a problem, the containers can still be removed fairly easily. I did this because it was easier for transplanting and with some cold nights it might keep the roots a little warmer. All other plants being put out are going to be taken from containers. Should i put females out as soon as they show, or should i wait and let them bud a little inside until light outside starts getting shorter. I think of it as a head start on budding. I know they will reveg if i put them out before June 21st, but will they just continue to grow buds if i put them out after that date?

  4. I purchased some bat guano and some organic fish and seaweed fertalizer that i will begin using on outside plants and any new plants that are put out. I checked the outside plants today and they are all doing awesome, some have grown noticeably the last few days.

  5. Heres a few updated pics, two are from some of the ones outside. Let me know what you think, its been raining the last two days, but all but 2 are doing awesome out there. Had some problems with some kind of animal digging a couple up.
