Compost is ready after 8-12 months so careful usung it too young. I'll be adding some old store bought compost and manures to make sure it's allright. The fungi (micorrhyza) is in both of those.
wow 8-12 months! looks like i wont be using a ton of my own compost this year! cant compost now since theres a foot of snow on the gorund either! lol
does it really take that long? I was hoping to start a compost bin at my new place but this has just made me shy away from it. I think putting a worm farm in it's place will be the better option for now.
btw, in case anyone was wondering (probably not) mushroom casings as compost works. the fungus dies, and all the straw/poo rots very quickly. later
