I am looking for a cheaper solution for co2 in the short term. I saw these advertised and i was thinking of putting them in a glass of water possibly with a aquarium air thingy to generate some extra Co2. I seen posts on here saying dont water plants with them. My question is will a stand alone cup of water with these tabs produce Co2 in the air for plants? (not using the water for the plants) Please dont bash, just looking to see if anyone has tried this or has any facts on it before i decide to buy. Thanks again

  2. I've been doing a lot of research on the whole CO2 concept. In water, the tablets would dissolve enough so that water plants would have enough co2 to do photosynthesis; but the CO2 would not likely produce enough ppm in the air to really make an economic difference. check out the DIY co2 systems, the yeast method might produce enough co2 if you can release it close enough to the leaves, but i hear that this also smells. maybe try dry ice(frozen co2~$1/lb)? i like your thinking... keep me posted
