Marijuana causing loss of appetite?

  1. Kind of a weird problem here lol. When im stoned I pretty much have the appetite of a horse, but throughout the day during school and work when im not high I have absolutely no appetite whatsoever.

when i take long breaks from pot eventually I'll start eating like a normal person but right now I only eat one big meal a day, at night, when im high because I have no appetite during the day, food even makes me feel a little sick while eating it unless im high, but im a healthy person not anorexic or any of that shit I usually love food :( anybody else feel this way?

also is it bad for me to consume that many calories at only one sitting a night? i usually let myself digest before I go to sleep

  2. Scientists are interested in this one particular cannabinoid(not THC and forgot the name of the other cannabinoid) that has the potential to supress appetite. Of course they want it for a weight loss drug.

  3. that's weird i never get this. i'm hungry 24/7

  4. in my later years yes....

when i was young hell no.

  5. It might be dependent on how potent the marijuana you are smoking is. You may just eat a lot when you are high, and then you think about when you are high, so you compare how much you eat while your high to how much you eat while you are sober. Just as suggestion, that may not be the case.

  6. I have become this way recently. I have not been eating breakfast or lunch...only dinner and a snack at night. I have been losing weight and shit, but I feel healthier than ever. I'm not complaining though.

  7. ive been smoking for 4 years and this shit hit me in the 4th year

i barely eat one meal a day....i get pains in my stomach all day its not fun at all

i wake up in the morning throw up everytime...

ive been smoking and i havent eaten for 2 days :/

  8. Happens to me after weed binges I guess.

I can smoke one time and my appetite will be the same, but if im high for like 2 days straight, the next 4-5 days after i barely eat anything.

  9. this happens to me when ive been smoking daily. ill go all day with out and it wont even phase me and then at night when i generally smoke i will get really hungry and i stay hungry even after eating a big meal so i make sure i limit myself cause that cant be a healthy eating habit.

do you drink coffee? cause i think that might be the problem for me cause i drink it all day and that always kills my appetite/gives me the energy to get through the day with out food.

i usually try to eat something in the morning even if im not hungry and that helps a little

  10. Yes I've noticed that a lot lately.

Only smoked onced early today and I've only eaten half a meal.

  11. had that problem for a moment. now i don't smoke everyday so i guess it just worked its self out.

so I just googled about how smoking weed can give you lose of appetite. And some of the things written on here are spot on. If smoked for a long time I don't over do it or abuse the drug, I smoke just enough that I feel comfortable with, after a while I start to feel side effects, lack of motivation, tired, hot flushes ect, iv always lost appitite during smoking periods, 4 months ago I decided to quit, I put on a stone in 3 and half months. I could not stop eating from the moment I got up to the moment I went to bed, for someone who has been boarderline underweight (according to my bmi) but still fit and healthy it was a massive shock to suddenly see myself pile on so much weight and not be able to control constant hunger so I decided despite quitting for other reasons to start smoking again to lose the weight. No diet no exercise, and I'm loosing the weight. The reason iv researched is because I really wanna know what chemical or what process happeneds for my appetite to be suppressed. Weed has always suppressed my appetite after few weeks of smoking it but I know people where it doesn't affect them in that way at all they still eat same as usual. Also the strength of the weed does not make a difference I try to avoid high grade and go for a lighter type so I can reduce side effects and tbh it doesn't matter what strength the weed is the side effects are the Same which makes me think it might not be the thc chemical but something else x

  13. BrookerX, really appreciate your contribution here. I'm going through the same loss of appetite that many are talking about here. Just made an account to say thanks.
