I think he means an extra $20 or even $100 for the best (even if it only brings peace of mind) should not be an issue for people who grow plants like his. I use 3 bags of top shelf soil (always FFOF plus at least one other brand), a small bag of worm castings and a cup of glacial rock dust. $80 per tray per grow A dozen 3 gallon smart pots A bottle each Cal-Mag or Sensi-Cal Pure Blend Original Grow (primary nutrient until week 4 flowering), Pure Blend Pro Soil (used once at week 4) Aquashield (if you have a reservoir), Voodoo Now you have enough nutrients and pots for several grows. $200 or $50 per tray per grow. $130 per grow...You could cut out all the expensive stuff and save maybe $90. If you loose 9 grams your savings is down the drain.
I use miracle grow super soil for plants in pots and containers. This year I put them in pots in case I need to move them. Southern California weather. It's easy. But I suspect different climates require different soils or conditions. All I know is practically any soil works well in South Cali. I am an outdoor grower I don't know a damn thing about indoor growing.
Mixasoil Living Organic Super Soil- Rated along with Sohum & Natures Living, but it is completely ready for growing. No mixing or aging needed just plant & grow.
