Portable vs Tabletop

  1. I am fairly new to vaping. I started out with the Arizer Extreme Q and I loved it. I decided I needed a portable so I bought an Arizer Air after doing a lot of research and not wanting to shell out enough for a Mighty or Crafty. I like the Air but I don't seem to get as buzzed off of it as I do the Extreme Q. Would anyone have an opinion as to why this is?

  2. Most likely the Q with its plug in powerful heater is able to vaporize more material faster.

I have noticed that I inhale differently with different vapes.

There is a ton of more vape information over at Fuckcombustion

The Q and the Air each have very active threads of over 300 pages each.

One member of the Arizer Air thread made a PDFs file with hints.

There is a Best of thread for the Air, also.

  3. Hello all,

I have an EQ and its immaculate! At first I was kinda skeptical because before I really sat down and had a session with the EQ, I ensured that I packed my Pax (v1) perfectly to get the best result/ effects, and it was putting on the performance of a lifetime. I couldnt have been prouder of the Pax. To me the Pax is the best portable vaporizer due to the stealth and vapor density. I doesnt have any glass parts so you are getting the best possible vapor delivered but the results are outstanding. I have never been let down with my Pax, only after a couple of uses I have ensure its clean or i will have a lot of drag when pulling. So once i sat down with the EQ and fiddling with the temperature that I like to vape at... I based my test of the Pax preset temperature setting and added a few degrees to account for the heating element being away from the herb chamber. With the EQ you can use bags like the Volcano (purchase a camelbak bite valve and you wont have to worry about losing vapor) you can also use a whip like the Silver Surfer/ Da Buddha vaporizers as well. With some modification such as DDave modification and using a different elbow piece for better airflow the EQ can compete with the best of them. What I noticed about the difference is that the Pax's vapor is warmer (maybe have something to do with the closeness of the heating element of the conduction vaporization process). Also, i notice that with desktop units i feel the effects much faster and harder and Im able to vape smaller amounts for the same amount of time it would take to do a larger bowl in a portable.

  4. it could be that your portable just isn't getting the same mass of material as hot nor is it keeping it as hot.

The desk top unit will always have the advantage as it has limitless power and likely a larger heating element.
