Tips for reading trichomes?

  1. Getting close to first harvest and it's a little difficult to get a read of the trichomes. (Clear, cloudy, amber). I have a 30x / 60x jewelers loupe, but difficult to focus in on trichs with movement etc... I see no amber for sure. But hard to tell cloudy/ clear.

Should I just cut off a leaf near the top to examine?

  2. Yes you can clip a sugar leaf and take a look, much easier than trying to look on whole plant

  3. A leaf isn't a good tester as you aren't going to smoke the leaf and they're trichomes probably started before the bud did. Take a sample bud from the upper part of the plant. Not the very top but a few inches down to get the best look
