I have several this big. You could try splicing it...no guarantees that it'll do anything besides act as a switch...unless the fan def has adjustable speeds The Mole Hole
That is pretty awesome. I believe that is an axial type fan that would work with AC power. I need to do something for room too.
Just remember if it does happen to adjust the speed even without technically being adjustable, then you're screwing with the longevity. The Mole Hole

120 volt AC house current.. Between 60 and 110cfm if it's the 38mm thick it looks to be.. If it's loud it's a 110CFM (cubic feet per minute).. Used a pair to keep my original veg boxes cooled for a couple of years.. BNW
