Falling out of love with my perc

  1. Hi there. So I found out about percs and went and bought one right away. 12 inch beaker bong with a 4 arm tree perc. I added a diffused downstem and a basic ashcatcher. I thought the perc in the tube was the coolest thing. Now, I find I get splashed from the perc because the bong is short, unless I use ice as a splash guard. The other thing is with the perc its somewhat harder to clear the bong at the end with the water/perc making two chambers. I was thinking of just not filling the 4 arm tree perc with water and let it act as splash guard. Is this a bad idea? Any thoughts?

  2. Would probably work still like that yes would just be like a regular bong and it's harder to clear because of all that water makes drag my piece that has a perc actually has a slash guard and I still find it draggy I just take a slower hit and let it bubbly longer

  3. Honeycomb percs are, imo, the least draggy of all percs. There is just less resistance to pull against with 20-50 little holes instead of (gonna guess your 4 arm has 2 slits per arm?) 8 slits in the tree style perc.

  4. Try playing around with the amount of water in the perc - I've got a 9" bong with a dome perc and find that filling it 2/3-3/4 of the height of the dome prevents it from splashing too much. I like smaller bongs with percs (because I just don't need a bigger one --- yet) and see that some of the smaller ones don't have enuff length above the perc to allow for/prevent splashing - just a poor design. I look more at the design of the perc for how it will perform -- tree arms & slits reaching down to base, hole/slits in domes as close to bottom of dome as possible, actual height of perc (short ones suck - too tall and they're draggy)....

  5. I love tree perks I gots a bong with a 40 arm tree hits like a boss
