Hey guys starting to make some hash.. I've done two ways now.. the first way I put some kief into parchment paper, used a hair straigner and made some, its a darker colour. I noticed today they have "pollen pressers" so I picked up one day and used that. I notice the hash is not hard nor dark, more yellowy green I assume because theres no heat. When I've pressed the pollen should I also use the straigener to get it darker and harder or does heating it and changing the colour make any difference?
It is not pollen so you can stop calling it that. The kief is the glandular trichomes of the plant, which contain most of the cannabinoids. You are correct that it was darker because it was heated. If you want to do traditional pressed hash I would recommend pressing it then putting it in a 220 F oven for 20-30 minutes. The heat acts to convert the non active THC into its active form by removing the carboxyl group from the molecule.
Wrap it in a coffee filter and press between parchment paper with heat and lots of pressure. Out will come rosin
I find rosin to be a horribly messy proposition. In the end there is always little bud kernels and shit in it. I'll take a proper extraction over rosin any day. Besides, so little joy for all the work involved. I mean, you'll be pressing all day to get a handful of dabs. In that time, I will have gotten a gram of sky walker OG shatter, gotten my nail to perfect dabbing temp and be well on my way to getting all fucked up.
He is talking about pressing hash here not bud. And it takes me 4 days to go from blast to purge to make bho, where i can press out 2 grams of bubble hash and get back a 1m5 grams in under 20 min. And you must of missed the part where i said wrap it in a coffe filter(you know to keep out all the contaminants).
And yes i know how to make good bho as well. I love both equally if done right and have access to top quality of both.
I was well into getting fucked up while you were writing this so even talking about rosin tech is slower then just getting some dabs going. You must have missed the part where I said I would rather dab then mess with rosin because of how I would rather be dabbing then messing with messy rosin tech. There is the geico commercial where the two guys,are talking about getting more. Each time it cuts to the guy on the left he get s buffer and buffer, more and more orange. I feel like this conversation is just like that. Must be the sky walker OG shatter I'm dabbing.
