Driving and toking

Discussion in 'Real Life Stories' started by CannabisAndAZ~, Feb 2, 2016.

  1. So, I just got a pt job delivering furniture at RAC; for which I had to fake a piss test, but that's a whole 'nother thread, and I'm wondering.. is driving after lighting up a j or packing a bowl really all that bad?

Does anyone else drive for their job and smoke and does it change anything you'd do if you were sober?

  2. Everyone is different. You should be asking yourself the question "am i comfortable driving baked" .

  3. I deliver news publications 7 days a week between 2AM and 6AM..best believe i'm smoking. I usually prefer my one-hitter when I'm out--it conserves, keeps the smell down, and it's easy to conceal or pitch out if need be and only like $3 to replace a onie bat.The only other recommendation I could make would be to roll a doob or a blunt--you can eat it if need be, but if you do smoke it it's gonna stink your ride up.

Weigh out your risk factor (police,pedestrians/population size, traffic, etc.) vs. the obvious advantages

I live out in the middle of Bumfuck Egypt...i think my "city" has 750 people in it, and they're all old and asleep by 9PM...I'm 25....my youngest neighbor is 72....which as an aside is bad ass...they can't hear, see, or smell a damn thing and as long as you are pleasant with them once a week, they leave you alone.

    hope this helps.

  4. depends on how you are when you smoke weed..
if you get all tripped out and panicked, then i wouldn't do it.

  5. Better hope you NEVER have an incident in the company vehicle...you, not the company, will have a large judgment if they determine that you were impaired in any manner. Not to mention that the company's carrier likely will have ZERO obligation to supply you with counsel in such a matter...

  6. Me, personally, I'm as cool as a cucumber sober, high or anything in between. I guess I was more upset about the fact that they drug test lol

  7. I love driving high but when I had a company truck I didn't smoke at all cause you will get random UA'S from the DOT, at least up here.

  8. Driving while intoxicated on anything makes you a fucking idiot. the end. Besides, driving while intoxicated is illegal all over the world for a reason. Pretty sure this is against the harm prevention of this site as well.

  9. Personally I don't, but I don't talk on the phone while driving either because I don't think it's safe.

Anything can happen in the blink of an eye while driving and I'd rather have my natural reaction time if something were to come up, rather than it being impaired by anything.

But it does come down to how marijuana affects you, and whether or not you think you are fine to drive high.

  10. All on the tolerance and driving skills..
And if your street and book smart.

  11. different strokes for different folks.

  12. No. From a person with a Driving Conviction. Get caught your life will be a mess

  13. Truth. As marijuana becomes legal in places, people are going to start taking liberties with it and shifting their responsibilities that they would normally have about it on the fact that its legal.

Fact: Driving and toking is incredibly dumb. Making a traffic violation or getting routinely pulled over WILL eventually happen. The max i would take with me if i was toking and driving would be a 1-hitter.. Somebody that even suggests smoking a joint/blunt in a vehicle clearly has no idea the ramifications behind getting caught, or how easy it would be to get caught or just does not care. This line of thinking is similar to holding your hand on a heated element and waiting to get burned before realizing the element is hot.. Its just dumb. If your offended by that statement, good, get your head on right and your priorities straight.

As more and more people begin to smoke and drive, they are going to be forced to develop techniques to deal with the irresponsible people like they have done with alcohol. Use it responsibly for your own sake and your neighbors sake, like how hard is it to think about other people other than yourself.

  14. Completely agree! It will eventually happen. My circumstances where very unlucky should I say but i'm glad it happened as i'll never do it again and the outcome could of been a lot worse! Hey a taxi is cheap and pick your car up in the morning! who cares if your 5 minutes late. Better than getting a bus for 2 years or seriously hurting someone you love, an innocent person or yourself.

I went 13 years without a license for 3 alcohol related duis. My friend went 16 years w/o a license for 1 cannabis related dui. Doesn't add up does it? We both got our licenses back the same year. We were both young and dumb as fk and learned from each other. Drive sober. Its not just you're life at risk

  16. I had a delivery job and I smoked a couple times. I was lit as fuck and ways always late to my destinations hahaha!

  17. Personally, personal vehicle is one thing, but your ass is way more on the line in a company vehicle. If something happens, you won't be covered, you will be fired, and you'll be fucked in the end of it all anyways.

I used to be like that, high all the time. Figured out that most things are best in moderation.

  18. Like everyone else said if there is an indecent involving the company vehicle or you then you could be in some serious trouble. Not just fired but could face jail time and large fines. I wouldn't risk it.

  19. driving high. I could never see driving for a company lite. and plus that if something happens that they look into it chances are your going to be out the door.
    -
now driving your personal car is different and mostly comes down to a couple things. tolerance, area of city( in city vs out of city/ highway) and how comfortable you are with being high and driving.
    -
I've done it a couple times. staying to less busy parts of the city or being out of city. and I find it keeps my speed down( usually cruse at 90-95 out of city but find myself having to fight to get above 80 while high). I don't know why but it happens.

  20. its not you smoking and working that is the question. You know your capabilities and what YOU can and can not do. You can smoke allday and noone will suspect a thing. The problem is what about the other guy who you have no control over? What if a cop pulls you over. What if someone runs a red light and hits you? What if a customer has a medical emergency while your working? What if the office made a mistake and now you have to deal with the pissed off customer....all things out of your control but may put you in a situation that because you smoked may be a bad one
