well this summer I smoked some bho for the first time and am in love with it. I went from smoking a oz of mids a week to only dabs. It's actually cheap bc a gram lasts me a week or two although they r expensive. I save $ not buying $100/oz a week. Anyway I have to go through middle men to get it. It's $50/g no breaks and I usually buy 5-10g at a time. And the middle men never want to get it even though I pay them to get it. Sooooo I have some $ to blow and am really interested in trying to make some myself. So I bought 2 cans of 5 time filtered butane, metal Turkey baster, Pyrex dish and a hotplate, and a oz of mids/good reg lol I struggled with the idea will mids be good enough for bho? I mean people use trim and fan leaves to mak3 dabs , i figure it has to be somewhat equal to trim. Minus t he dank taste. So what do people think of using mids for bho, also some people say grind it to e powder som3 say leav3 it in buds. I am thinking breaking it all up to small buds ? So ima put my butane and bud in the freezer, then run 5 or 10 oz through it onto a Pyrex dish. Double boil off the butane and then put the Pyrex on a hotplae to further purge. I've seen you tube vids with this method and it works from what they showed. Anyway just wanted some pointers or tips for tomarow, thanks
so I made it ! It's not super dank but it does get me really high.and im quite proud of it for my first try. Im confident with refining technique i can supply myself . I did a couple things wrong I'm gonna change tomarow when I run 1oz + 7g kief. I have a half inch wide about 15' long pvc pipe, I know I know but I wanted to see if I could even do it before invested alot of $. Anyway it had 6 holes in the bottom one on the opposite end. I sprayed 11 oz butane through it. I forgot to heat up water for the double boiler and by the time I did it was all evaporated mostly. So I add 145 degree water to the double boiler. It was golden honey and popping big bubbles like on you tube vids. After I sprayed it up it was just like peanut butter then I put on wax paper on My hot plate 140 for 5 min and it dried into green instead of the gold peanut butter and it's like light greenish cloudy taffy I got 2.5g back from 25g mids 1g kief. I felt like the hot plate was too hot and maybe burnt some of let out terps and that's why it's cloudy green. ' So I'm thinking it not purged enough . It it taffy like with a million holes popped in it. Like this honeycomb crackle I had once. I have pics any advice or tips to make it the best it can be ? Next time should I put a coffe filter on the bottom of bho pipe and rubber band or duct tape it. so shake and other plant matter don't get into my Pyrex pot ? Also when I go to attach image it says no pics how do I add pics ? I have a vid too
Stop trying to make oil until you buy proper equipment. All you are doing is killing yourself with the garbage you made. A 5 min purge? Are you joking????
