    What has been your experience with Medical Marijuana and employment in California?


    I interviewed at a retail company just the other day, and I got a job offer contingent on passing a background check, which included a drug test. So I called the hiring manager and told her straight up that I was a Medical Marijuana patient. She was very cool and advised me to just go for the pee test and show my documentation. So I did.


    I went to a lab in South San Francisco to pee in a cup, and I showed them my doctor's note. They took it without blinking an eye and were not weird at all about it.

    Some companies in Cali still test for it and will not hire you. But most no longer test for it from my experience. I've had a lot of jobs and smoked and never had an issue with popping for it on tests, same with my friends.



    But more technical or advanced jobs still test and won't hire over it still.

    they call it a pre-employment drug test for a reason. weeds out unwanted candidates for the job

    Every job I have tested for out here does not care if thc pulls up. They are looking for other unmentionables that pull up. Government jobs are the main ones that will rule out thc but they only test like once so....
