Hello, Getting a bunch of gear to get ready for my first blast, not sure if I got everything, or if I got the right stuff, if someone could guide me that'd be great. I plan on blasting onto the PTFE paper I'm ordering, is that the right kind of paper and safe to blast on? Also, is that everything I need to do a vac purge? Getting a couple lbs of good trim so hopefully I'll get around 2 zips from 2 lbs my first run What kind of material should I blast out of my tube with? Like two coffee filters? Thank you very much, and if someone wants to give me other advice on how they blast and purge their product that'd be awesome. Hoping to make some golden shatter or yellow wax.
Make sure to freeze everything for at least 24 hours befor the blast. Freeze the packed tube with coffe filter already in place (i use 2-3 filters when i used to tube blast back in the day) and freeze the butane. Yes ptfe is safe to blast on, its one of the only products that aren't glass or metal that you can. Make sure your purging temp doesn't reach over 100° and flip the oil every 24 hours and do at least a 72 hr purge in the vac chamber total. Do everything outside, stay away from any form of electrical work.
Thanks for the reply Doc. To make nice shatter would you keep the temp around 100? All the equipment that I linked comes out to 550, do you think I got the right stuff and everything I'll need? What's your opinion on a ss blasting tube vs a glass one? Also, do you prefer running sativa or indicas as far as yield?
And as far as safety I plan on wearing my work bibs and goggles, and a heavy jacket and face mask in case I go boom. Then setting the pyrex ontop of a table in the middle of my backyard(privacy fence so don't need to worry about neighbors), blasting onto the PTE, and running in and out of the house with warm water for the second pyrex underneath it to water purge it until it's not runny. Then bring it inside for a vac purge.
