iPhone or Android? Why?

  1. Working at the job I do, I have the privilege to have two phones. My personal, and my company phone. My personal is an iPhone 6S, my company phone is an LG Flex 2. Both phones I love and both can do things the other cant. So what do you like to use and why?

Personally, I like iPhones because of how secure they are. I also like how smooth they run. But that's just my experience.

  2. I prefer iPhones as i also use Mac as working computer. The lvl of synchronization iPhone and Mac can't be found out anywhere else at all.

  3. I carry a work and personal phone too. Both androids. Actually in the market for upgrades so I'm interested in what people say. A friend of mine manages Verizon. She'll hook me up with pretty much anything for personal and whatever decent for work for free. Never had luck w/ iphones. My phones take a beating and iphones just never lasted long. Screens broke too easy. I also work in a very dusty environment and iphones can't handle it. Not very many people carry iphones where I work but that's not something the average phone user deals with. I'm not picky when it comes to the actual features. As long as it has good sound for music and a battery that lasts. That was the other issue I had with my iphones. I run Pandora 10-12 hours a day. I can throw it on my charger at lunch if needed but it wasn't long before the batteries crapped out.

  4. I have a Moto X which is android. After dealing with my girlfriends old iphone I will never get one. Too much of a hassle when you want to do stuff it wasn't designed for like putting music on it. With android its drag and drop.

  5. I like Apple, both of my computers are Mac, and always planned on getting an iPhone. Until, one day I was trying to download an audio lecture for my brother on his iPhone and found out this isn't possible without a huge hassle. I don't have internet aside from 5gb on my phone, so if I wanted to listen to lectures more than once, it would chew up my data (I always listen multiple times). Also, I like to download other things to my sd and move them too and from my computer, like apps etc.

Next, my phone is 32gb and I bought an sd for 20bucks with 64gb. You cannot add storage to iPhones unless you pay big money for built in storage or cloud, which translates to needing to stream (using precious data).

Android seems to have more diverse apps and more free apps.

    Android is open source.

IPhone are more consistent, function smoother, probably more secure.

IDK if this is still true but my gf had an iPhone 4 and switching between tabs it always reloaded the webpage, my android doesn't need to reload when switching .

    Android are more customizable

    IPhone have way more accessories

As far as I know iphones cant run TOR.

As far as I know, you can't get rid of iPhones native apps.

Android has vastly more options for phones

  6. I've owned both iPhones and Android phones. I prefer Android hands down. I do not like Apple's walled garden approach for one reason. There are many others as well.

  7. apple are robbing bastards that even make their own chargers that dont work with other phones for money

  8. Blackberry...and I have some concerns about their move to integrate Android into the OS given the potential security issues that this introduces into what was once an almost bulletproof platform.

  9. Android, because I like the full internet - not the abridged version. Hate it when software holds you back and restricts access to what the device is capable of.

  10. If you want more control of your phones/ tablets/ iPods, root your androids and jailbreak your iphones. Caution it will void your warranty.

  11. i dont think they can do anything if you reset it though if you dont tell them

  12. If your phone takes a dump on you and you have to send it in, you might not be able to reset it. Say the phone won't power up or the screen goes black, you won't be able to reset. However when they get your phone at the repair facility they'll know and void your warranty. A good friend of mine works at Verizon and has dealt w/ several ticked off customers that didn't know and sent a phone in for repairs.

  13. I have had them both. I like the iPhone better over all. I use my iPad all the time and I like how it is integrated with all of my apple devices. I can call or text with my iPad when my iPhone is nearby and on the same wifi. I like the look and feel of the iPhone 6s Plus a little better then the Samsung S5 and S6 I had.

  14. Yes, they can. Even if you do a factory reset most phones have pieces of non-volatile memory that record if they have been rooted. That doesn't stop me though. I couldn't care less. I get a new one every 6-12 months anyways.

Up until last month, I had used Androids since smartphones became the norm. I really enjoy the OS and it's definitely more in line with what I am looking for in a phone. But damn, the hardware fucked me up.

In the past year or so I've had two phones just stop working for no good reason. I take very good care of my phones. They're always in a case and I keep them looking like new. So it is frustrating to have it just top working on me.

Even though I was never a fan of Apple I got the iPhone 6 last month, just looking for a change. I hear that a lot of people switch to iPhones for similar reasons as mine.

So far I enjoy it. There's a few things I miss about Android, but there's also a few pluses I have with the iPhone. So far, so good. It's really helpful for my work.

I think at this point in the game it comes down to personal preference. Both phones perform similarly.
