If youre a cop and get caught deliberately sabotaging the cam, they should have neurologist scan your brain and see if you have a predisposed tendency to be a sociopath. They should to that even before youre eligible to be qualified to become an officer of the law. The only real reason these scumbags are being charged in the first place is because of video footage. While they simultaneously try to confiscate cell phone cams of by standers who are recording them behaving atrociously. Its like some of these cops are shocked that people dont want to see you beat or shoot an innocent person to death. If there was no footage of the shooting it would have been word of the dead guy and would be witnesses that regularly get intimated, versus that of the cops. I fully believe if were to move forward peacefully together as a society we need massive, massive, total reform of not only police, but politics in general, because these Paleozoic era monkeys are holding back our collective species from elevating and progressing forward.
The cops are definitely as clannish as any gang out there, in their "code of silence, don't rat on a brother" type thing. I get why the average cop doesn't want to speak out, however, people have been murdered for less. How can you change it though? Can you?
Unless an agency assigns vehicles to specific personnel, there is often no way to pinpoint who causes any damage to the system. And then there are ALSO some systems that just flat suck...I really wish more agencies would use the software from L3 which has some really kickass features and includes cameras on both the dash and in the back seat of the cruiser. It also indicates when the officer is keying a body mic...
