Is trimming leaves, branches and buds bad in flowering?

I read somewhere that it might nake her a herm. Is that true?

  2. You will get mixed reviews on that , personally I only screw with stuff up until like 2 or 3 weeks in then I leave it alone, I think after that they don't really like it, if you gotta pull a couple leaves for light or air reasons then it's not terrible, I did some serious branch snapping a couple weeks in and a series of defoliation, didn't hurt anything, that has been my experience

  3. You will be fine. This weed can take a lot of abuse and still give a nice yield. This is not something you would do if you are seeking max potential.

  4. I'm switching to flower in next few days so I cleaned up so lower scraggly looking branches 2 days ago. I'm a newb but I heard its best to do before flowering. But if rumple says you'll be fine if trust he. I've read lots of his posts and it's never steered me wrong

i cutted down a few branches too

  7. We had a room full hermie once when hubs decided to defoliate the fan leaves during the flower cycle. He went in daily and chopped off the fan leaves. The next thing I knew, we had seeds, seeds, seeds!! You can do what you want to with them during the veg stage as far as chopping, etc., but I would be very careful how much I cut off once you've flipped the lights and thrown them into flower mode. I trim up the bottom third of my plants just to remove all the little sucker stuff below the canopy but I try to do this before they go into flower. I will remove a dead or dying leaf as I wander through but that's about it as far as doing anything to them once they start budding. I don't know about you, but I put way too much time and effort into these things to have them turn to seed. TWW

    have faith

  9. You will see nanners before seeds. They're little yellow banana shaped pollen sacks. You can pluck em off to keep the pollination at bay.

  10. I completely forgot to mention they would be green before yellow. Be on the lookout for little green banana shaped pollen sacks. They will appear in your buds.

  11. I cant see anything so far. Is this bound to happen? I hope not. Im scared :D

  12. You're worrying too much lol. Male flowers are rare and the plant has to have a predisposition for it anyway. It's not something you should worry about unless you know your plant is prone to doing it. I'm not saying stress won't have it's effects, but turning hermaphrodite is relatively rare.

As for the idea of stripping down the lower budsites so the energy will be used at the top, in experiments that I have carried out this is not the case. The top most bud seem unaffected, and you're just losing out on the lower bud that you could have made concentrates from. Plus pulling the lower leaves will just lower the plant's ability to breath and make food. If the plant doesn't want those leaves, it will extract it's nutrients and drop them. This is a controversial topic though, these are just my findings in my grow room

  14. More than half of the information on growing is generally disagreed upon to some degree. Mostly from bad experimentation and regurgitating other people's writings without questioning them. But some of it is subjective or makes such little difference that it doesn't really matter. As long as you get the most agreed upon stuff right you will be ok. That's the most important stuff
