Minimize stretch. This is my first grow and I have only had a few ph problems (that I know of). This is a I tire of my stealth box

  3. Will this work for the lower part or are the lights too close? Thank you in advance for your help[IMG]

  4. The light penetration of CFLs is pretty low so the side lights are a wonderful idea! Just make sure they stay at least 2 inches away or you might get a burnt leaf or two.

  5. what's your plan for when you flip to flower and they stretch their legs and get to be twice as tall as they already are? I'm assuming those lights are mounted to the top of your cab? If so I'd say your screwed with that cab and at veryleast you should probably build a taller cab or honestly start over from seed and this time get twice as much light in there and only 3" tops from the top of the plant at all times. Running out of space isn't fun when you are flowering in my own experience.

  6. By keeping an equal amount of side lights, I was able to keep stretch down, and improve the size of my inner buds for my previous (and first) grown. I have resolved to always keep side lights now. Think of it this way: Does the Sun only touch the tops of plants outside, or does it cover all sides? Your plants look loved, btw. How old are they?

Yea man raise the plants or lower the lights. They stretch from lack of light intensity at that distance. Oh and the CFLs can stay real close. Remember that the light from CFLs come off the side of them, not the tip so use that to your advantage. Other than that they look good!

  8. I appreciate all the advice. these 5 plants were started on December 1 so they are about seven weeks old. They are flowering now. they were autos and I will definitely keep the light closer/change the wattage of lights with the two smaller plants I have started on January 1

Thanks again and I will let you know how they turned out

  9. Btw I keep my CFLs under 6" from foliage. They can literally get an inch away and be fine. Just remember to do a hand check if you doubt yourself. Put your hand between the bulb and foliage, if your hand is uncomfortable then so is the plant. Bigger CFLs equal more heat but anything under 42 watts should be able to be kept as close as you like.

  10. Wow since I moved the light in the plant the water consumption has increased dramatically the bulbs are probably too close but it's the best I could do for now

    Here's a picture. [IMG]

  11. It don't look bad. Smoke a bowl and stare at it and you'll figure it all out. That's what I do anyway.
