anybody can veg under any light
When I switched to autos I realized just how important light is for flowering
    You really can't have enough
But yes, you can get by on the minimum for vegging

Thanks for the input. Just hung a 300w led panel. That puts me at 9200 lumens per plant so I think I'm getting good coverage :)

Little update. Added 300w led panel. Just about 3 weeks of vegging so far.

I'm concerned about vertical space. Do indicas stretch a bunch during flowering?

  6. Potted into their forever homes. Some 5 gallon buckets I cut down. I was prepared to use the as is but I was concerned about compaction and drainage. These are ball parked to be between 3.5 and 4 gallons now. I feel good about it.

Also a little haircut to expose bud sites.

  7. Planning on swapping out the cfls for a second 300w led. Right now I have 8 13w and 4 23w cfls running with one 300w led.

    Thoughts?

  8. 2x 300w (140w true im assuming) would be better but you will do great with 1 led and the CFLs, especially during veg. The node spacing is unbelievable with CFLs during veg considering they aren't nearly as good as LED per watt.

  9. Cool thanks for the input! I have been loving the results thus far, but I'm struggling to keep things below 83F. So the cfls are out and another led is on the way.

  10. Ya two leds is the plan. I'm about 3.5 weeks into vegging and I'm going to flip them over to 12/12 when I get the light (making about a month of veg)

I'll keep this posted with my temps once I put the second panel in. Right now I'm running one 300w led panel with 3 13w cfls, 6 inch inline fan, plenty of ventilation, and a small booster angled directly on a cfl. Temp before leaving for work was 79.6F

    Yup, my geography sucks.

  11. Good point. The idea was the use the cfls as side lighting. In all frankness I'm just waiting for my second 300w LED panel and I figured a little cfl is better than none in the meantime.

That's a small LED in a light socket. Also will be removed once the second 300w arrives.

I anticipate that two panels will be no hotter (hopefully cooler) than the three cfls currently in there. If that does not come to pass then, well, I'm open suggestions lol!

Oh did you have heat problems?

LED are best but no light is cold per say.

  13. Yeah that's fine. Some places its 90 outside everyday. They survive.

80 is pretty perfect actually. Could be much worse

4 ladies about a foot tall a piece. Am I underpowered with one 300w led for flowering?

Approx 148 true watt and 24000 lumens.
