White Powdery Mildew

  1. Need some advice on how to tackle white powdery mildew during flowering. Read as much as I can on the topic but still seem to have a problem with the mildrew showing up after a day or so. I've sprayed milk on the leaves, but wasn't thrilled that it left a layer of milk on the leaves that stayed on after it was dried. I've been spraying hydrogen peroxide solution mixed with 1 parts peroxide and 4 parts water. It seems to address it for a day or two, but the mildew shows up elsewhere.

I'm running a 16" fan blowing on the leaves, 100 cfm on the air intake, and a 200 cfm carbon filter exhaust. Flower room is 3' wide x 5' length x 7' height. Temps stay around 77 degrees with humidity at 45-50%.

  2. take some pics

  3. You've got too much moisture coming from somewhere or it wouldn't be showing up. I had it before...a light case, but the diluted milk mixture took care of it for me. I had gotten sloppy in my veg room and had some green vegetation lying near my plants along with the humidity getting too high in there. Put more fans in and move more air around so when you get rid of it, it will stay gone. TWW

  4. Thanks for the advice.

The only thing I can think of is that the tops of the soil stay wet for a couple of days after watering which I only do once a week. I think I'll move the top layer around and only water 1 area of the pot as opposed to the entire pot and then cover the wet area to see if that helps.

Will post pics later after lights on.

  5. I just got done flowering plants with PM. We were able to keep it at bay with some garlic spray from our local hydro store but it started getting out of control as the plants got bigger. Sprayed diluted skim milk on them and it seemed to help for a couple weeks.

It ended up taking over everything. It was all over the buds at the end of the grow.

I came on here to ask about it in the beginning and one guy told me to cut them down and cut our loses. He was right. I learned the hard way. Spent tons of money and time into PM plants and ended up with nothing in the end. Now I have to worry about cleaning my grow room spotless a few times before I put anything in there and then still worrying about the spores flying around and sticking to my new girls.

We got some clones from a random guy and I'm pretty sure that's how we got PM. Very frustrating. Never trust anyone.

Ours was worst case scenario and we couldn't control it. We tried a few well known remedies and none worked well enough at the end of flower.

    Upsetting.

    Good luck.

  6. Oh and our humidity was at 25% the whole time and it still spread like wildfire.
