Legalization in Pennsylvania?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Legalization' started by grass_god420, Jan 20, 2016.

  1. Does anyone know about the likely hood of legalization in Pa?? I know that it isnt legal for medical or recreational use, but does anyone know if/when there is a chance for this?

  2. Not any time soon, at all. A little research will show you the next 5 states to likely or possibly Legalize are California, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts and Nevada and Pennsylvania isn't really even on the horizon. There is a very bare bones medical marijuana bill they are trying to push through in PA but it is just as bad as having no medical laws at all.

On the other hand, in Philadelphia and recently Pittsburgh through Protests and efforts from the cannabis community we helped get marijuana decriminalized so in those areas it is a fine if you are caught smoking or possessing an ounce or less rather than a criminal offense.

  3. Are people are for it are reps are for it are governor is for it Matt Baker is stopping it he is the stone wall in pa guess who he's funded by?

  4. Lessthenjeezy that's for Recreational use its legal in Cali for medical so is Maine and every other state you mentioned. The senate voted 43 to 7 in favor of medical use and even growing. Now it goes to the House so they can vote on it. Governor Wolf said he will sign the Bill soon as it hits his desk!!! But it will be a year or two!

  5. anything BUT COMPLETE LEGALIZATION is grounds for corruption conspiracy... show me these groups for which protest, and push for that and ill give you quite a good handful of people you may wanna fucking know if you actually want to see the true potential of what could be made of just hemp, then cannabis is just an entirely separate aid to our help, like they wanna push in this bill, I read it, just like many others, I also read it to my state rep here in Scranton, yea say what you will, home is home.. but straight up, guys not having what I gotta say, but he respects my maturity to be more than what walks around although I am what comes of that lifestyle and see theres more to life than your own damn self... im ready to set aside my NE born Stubborness to simply get it done from the peoples standpopint.... fuck man. I just wanna grow, its my passion and its truly difficult to hone your skills into a master craft if your fucking playing the stealth game and shit... oh yea I know I got told about disclosure and statute of limitations, and due process... its alright, im not the same person who thought itd be smart to say fuck it, doing it anyway... what is lost by trying something new? shit, idk... alls I know is im 25, a decade long going high, and pretty much only have one other thing ive vested more time into than pretty much any and all things hemp and cannabis... and that's just what I do to pay my taxes. cause oi actually do pay taxes, yea I brought that just in case I got told that shit again... aint the first time I tried to ask questions about miss mary jane.... just this time.. im not seeking vengeance for personal satisfaction, maybe just the garden but hahaha naw, rather just prove that it can start small and simple, and save the entire world we may not want to keep In mind a lot, but is out there, and outside this will be there until its had enough of the bullshit we make a life of nowadays lol. medical marijuana bill signed in two years... takes two years to get a medical bill signed, ill personally grow out a few properties offered to me and fucking dump the 4000sq ft harvest for whatever it amounts to on the capital lawn and smile in the courtroom when they prove what I said five years ago... make lemonade with lemons, make that medicine with marijuana... cmon if I can do it since idk when and literally balance my bipolar with it along with some solid favors and advice, of a good group of peeps I truly only share the love of herbs with and only barter for blend and variety, then im truly not gonna keep hopes here in PA and take my passion to other places ive had the luxury of being taken seriously, and given serious consideration given I find myself in that place .... but im not ready to let my finger fly just yet PA... got another shot I wanna take before I say fuck you guys, ill go where im sure I wil be welcomed by which I have to put onto that table... I show pride if given that audience and microphone, might be rough to hear my perspective but idc how they do it, everyone is due for something when its all said and done... just my opinion, I mean shit, reefer madness kinda caught a break on some slnder given plants aint humans, nor even animals, probably have that before a good group to have the time and resources to push an all or nothing battle... anything inbetween is just an insult and proof they just foolin with it... were broke as fuck an we aint all workin so much these days, out here in scanton, its way down, its pretty much a fucking hot pool of who got it worse, and wheres the cookie that anyway? oh yea, they fed them to the kids they locked up when they caught some nice kickbacks for some disciplinary programs geared to handle and educate troubled teeens... cash for kids, let it be known, cut me deeper than anyone will ever know... never will trust anything the same again... #growyourownsmokeyourown

  6. I was talking about recreational, this is a thread on legalization, I don't consider medical "Legal", especially with the fact that feds can still close their doors with no reason. Also, PA did just pass one of the most restrictive MMJ bills recently which does not allow edibles or smoking of marijuana in any respect so while it is a step, it is a very small one and in the wrong direction, it should be a full plant bill just like it is in California, or Maine or Colorado.

So let me get this right.

For a long time PA has harassed, tormented, oppressed us over the cannabis plant.

Now they do this to us with not one word or public apology to us as if they had never done anything wrong to us.

-It will take 18-24 months to implement after it is signed into law.

-Only allows treatment for 17 serious conditions. The board can approve more conditions "Three years after the MM program commences".

-Doctors are required to register with the state and complete a 4 hour course. Their information will likely be made public (possibly under the Right-To-Know Act). This move will discourage most doctors from participating. New Jersey did the same thing which resulted in a low-turnout of physicians, and thereby a low turnout of patients.

-Growers/processors are required to have $2,000,000 in capital with $500,000 in the bank. There is a $200,000 initial fee and $10,000 application fee. This eliminates small businesses.

Does this mean Ex Governor Tom Corbett( for example) and his buddies who have oppressed us for so long now can be the investors in all this because they see dollar signs and have the means to do so while continuing the oppression at the same time.. Why not just say we were wrong from the start. It's now fully legal to grow as many plants as you want on your property as long as you are not selling to minors. Why can't they just do this? Greed!

    Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana Laws

Pennsylvania Marijuana Laws for Possession, Growing, Selling | Criminal Law

    Pennsylvania Laws & Penalties

So they want to have their cake in eat it too. Hey I am all for helping sick people but you are doing it wrong. You can not continue to do this double standard oppress us. But you are. Legalization will now never come, aka freedom will never come now. This is the new system aka cash cow.

You son of a bitches. You are all going to get it and get it bad.

  9. An amendment by Rep. John Lawrence, R-Chester, forbids state public officials and employees (lawmakers, the governor, judges and cabinet secretaries, among others) from having a financial stake in a licensed medical marijuana organization. The prohibition also is leveled against their immediate family members as defined under the state Ethics Act.

Let me be more specific then. Those who have deep pockets shutting out those who do not.

The amendment is fine but remember, follow the money? Money talks and bullshit walks.

I was just using Tom Corbett as an example, maybe a bad one. This would not stop friends of friends who see dollar signs. Loop holes.

What about those who own micro breweries currently and now want to invest into cannabis?

That would be wanting to own it all in other words.

  11. Yea I agree I don't have a quater million to shell out but either way it's a foot in the door to legalization who cares about money when lives are being saved that's what it's really about

  12. It's not a foot in the door to legalization. These laws are hard to change once they become implemented here. This is the new system for a long time to come. Legalization would be anyone living in PA that is over 18 years of age is able to grow cannabis plants and as many as they want as long as they are not selling to minors. People could even set up vendor stands on the side of the road like people sell there own homegrown organic fruits and veggies now. That is legalization.

Lives are not being saved one bit. PA has destroyed more lives in the last 10 years then they ever will help in the next 20 with these bullshit laws. Big Pharma Co. owns it all now.

How come no announcement of release of all the Cannabis POW currently sitting in prison or peoples past records expunged for those arrested in the past?

This is not about helping people, that's a ruse. They have dollar signs in their eyes.

If that were not true that they cared, then they would of included home growing and smoking.

You really think they care. Then you have been fooled.

They won't care if we are sitting in a cage rotting to death for cannabis charges and have not for the last 20 years.

I have been overgrowing the Gov't for 19 years now and this is the result.

You overgrew yourselves, not the Gov't.

Well this medical bill was a bummer in some ways as in no smoking or home growing. But it really was not about the adults, it was really about helping children in need.

My suffering pales in comparison to their suffering from seizures and other illness that Cannabis can help or even cure right now.

The people who prevented this should be ashamed of themselves.

    That is my final thought.
