  2. I choose to believe because I believe in something grater than myself and worldly desires because if not than that would make me be tod this earth which would be a lie because if I were beyond this earth o would live forever and we all know there always gonna be an end so I choose to believe in something cuz if I don't then there's really no point to life then is there?

  3. Jesus Christ is my hope. He is the only hope we have in this world full of man and his mistakes. My common sense tells me that a higher power created all that we are and see here in this life. It didn't just happen and we didn't evolve from monkeys to where we are today. We were created. Another certainty in life is death. We will all have to face it at some point. When I face death here on this earth, I want to meet my creator at the end and be in good standing with him. Jesus is real. He resides in my heart and I love Him with all that I am. TWW

  4. It gives me hope. Hope is an amazing motivator. Hope makes me a happier, kinder, more excited and a pleasant human being.

It also gives me acceptance. Faith in Christ allows me to shake off the failures of yesterday, and continue on to better things today.

  5. I don't see a "higher power" as some sort of person like being or entity.

I don't think we were designed. We evolved. We are ever evolving.

I don't believe we have any designed purpose or destiny. We create our own destiny.

I used to call myself an atheist. But that's not really accurate. I guess I'm an agnostic (although there isn't much difference) in that I can't say for sure there is or there isn't. I don't think there is a god or if there is, that it matters if I pray or sacrifice lambs to him/her/whatever.

If I'm wrong, well, I didn't make me.

A higher power can be anything really. Much is more powerful than us. We are a small part of the cosmos, yet very special due to consciousness. Our people have always thought of us as so special we must of been created by a creator. We created our orgin without really knowning anything at all. Looking passed human perspective, Were simply a by product of the cosmos like anything else like the stars. Only difference is we can be aware of things and be 'conscious'. We are an inevitable product thats purpose is to live and move on. So far my own personal ride is kicking ass. Im very enthralled by the experience Im having. Makes me want to continue learning as much as I can before I perish one day. Cant wait, so much excitement its overwhelming.

  7. Yup.

I don't need to believe in a God/higher power to realize that I'm only a small part of something greater than myself...

And I have no personal need to define it.

  8. I was happily an athiest, i didn't choose to seek a higher power, it came to me and crushed my world, for the better anyways.

  9. Interesting question OP! I just pray that the athiests do not troll this thread, as i am curious to read other's answers.

I choose to beieve in a higher power because there are too many miracles in our world/universe.

Let's take the big bang theory shall we? We have a 1 in a trillion chance of having an exact sun, with an exact planet at an exact distance on an exact angle rotating at an exact speed. Why was the 1 in a trillion chance of life on Earth here anyway? There has to be some sort of intelligence that allowed that to happen. Now if you ask me to describe the intelligence, I cannot do that. But i do blieve it is there. I do blelieve that when the energy inside us that makes our cells move around (life), goes somewhere when we die. I would like to believe that we become part of that intelligence that allows life here on Earth.

  10. I agree. I can get religiously psychotic if i do that.

  11. You do not question this miracle? You mean you just accepted it as "poof....here we are!"? Why?

You have the right to believe what you want. I just want to understand your point of view. Thank you.

  12. Because everyone I come into contact with ends up mirroring my sub-conscious thoughts through body language including animals and the wind in the branches of trees.

    To Grasscoty

Why is it hard to grasp? Most cant look passed their own ego. We are no different than anything else in the cosmos. With the right conditions for life to sprout it will eventually sprout. Life will live and then die. Another time life will live and then die. All over the cosmos where conditions exist. Its just a natural progression of reality. No belief required, its just reasonable. I dont look through my "human goggles". I look beyond me, beyond perspective and look at the grand scheme. Were a natural occurrence like planets or nebulas etc. The cool thing is we have the ability to behold these things while those things cannot. Due to no consciousness or self awareness.

Also the time scale in the cosmos is millions and billions of years. We can only grasp hundreds due to our human lifespans. I can see how its hard to see things evolving. It does though, lets look at the whole cosmos.

Basic explanation; Mostly voids with low energy and forces acting. In there are elements and matter that natural float on so to speak. Eventually forces tangle these things to the point of impact. Stars emerge and live there lifespan until exploding. There lies elements left over interacting to the point of clumps of matter. Planets form, cool and if conditions of the elements are present. Life will sprout and soon evolve to the point of self aware life. One day questioning its existence. This can happen all over the cosmos. Many civilizations all over the place with unique lifeforms depending on the conditions present.

How did it all start? Like the universe? Cant be known at this moment, maybe someday. In the meantime there is no need to invoke a creator due to lack of evidence. It gets invoked due to humans feeling they are special from everything else.

  15. trillion is probably a small number to the universe, especially with numbers like Infiniti at play...

  16. I don't believe in a God simply because you must conceptualize it. You need a brain first to acknowledge him. You need to be alive to acknowledge him. You need a certain amount of consciousness to form the very idea, this alludes to the paradox of existence. Whatever exists is a paradox.

  17. Him?

  18. And you do not question the orgin of this ability? Where did it come from? You mean it "poofed" into existance from nothingness?

  19. For those who cannot fathom or conceptualize a god. I ask do you dream? The I say to you it's a biological brain working a quantum ritual.
