Correlation/causes of coughing up blood

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by chopnscrew, Jan 17, 2016.

  1. The title says it all. I woke up this morning coughing up thick phlegm that was mixed with blood, it looked rather dark too. Last night I was at a little playoff party; had 3-5 beers but smoked quite a few bongs and heavy hash/tobacco spliffs as well as handheld vaporizers (the oil shit not any THC oil or nug). I've smoked bowls mainly my whole life but now have been smoking spliffs steadily for about a year, king size typically; 70-30 or 80-20 ratio of nug to tobacco. My question to the fellow tokers is has coughing up blood happened to you? if so is there a correlation between anything I consumed last night, and the bloody phlegm?. My buddy said it happened to him when he was 17 smoking a pack a week via spliffs, but he smokes WAY heavier than anybody now spliff-wise and he's fine. Any input is appreciated, bit nervous here. I'm also sick, but i'm just beginning to get it over it. Thanks much [IMG][IMG]

  2. I'd advise you to see a doctor...coughing up blood is a huge warning sign of many serious illnesses....

  3. Yeah i certainly planned on that I just wanted to get input from others as well

  4. As a EMT, I also advise you to seek medical attention, jmick is 100 percent correct it could be a huge warning sign if something else

  5. Ditto^^^^^^^

Agreed, and do not waste any time doing it. Pick up the phone and call your doctor to make an appointment ASAP, like yesterday would be good.

EDIT: It could be as simple as rupturing a blood vessel in your throat or esophagus, or it could something far, far worse.

  7. Why do you give two shits about what some stranger stoner thinks about your health? It is not normal in the realm of marijuana consumption is all you need to know. You have a health issue that could be potentially serious. The earlier the diagnosis the earlier you can get healthy.

My ENT appointment is already made but i'm asking to determine exactly that; if other normal marijuana smokers have ever had the same effects or input on the question

The responses are much appreciated; thank you to all

  9. If it was NORMAL for NORMAL pot smokers to have blood in their phlegm FROM SMOKING POT then you would have ALREADY heard of it. It would be the first thing opponents for legal pot would be jacking off about, it would be on every milk carton, on every anti-pot billboard and even worse it would be in every bathroom stall on every sheet of TP in the world if that was true. I would be wiping my ass on a warning that pot causes bloody phlegm.........several times a day.
