Powdery mildew help Cleaning grow room.

  1. Alright so we have plants in the last week in flower and have had powdery mildew on the plants since the plants were in veg. We've been treating it aggressively and have controlled it enough so we can actually harvest a few buds.

My question is how do I clean my grow room so it doesn't come back again? We are going to burn the plants and then bleach the room a few times a week for two weeks.

Is there anything else I can do? Has anyone else dealt with powdery mildew and was successful at eliminating it for good!?!?

  2. I run a pretty clean ship, with regular room cleans, bleach, bleach and more bleach. I regularly spray neem up into the onset of flower and then spray Green Cure as necessary. I thought the low humid winter months would be the time I would expunge the stuff, but to no avail. One thing is certain, if I allow a plant to dry too much or even wilt some, it will have some PM spots on it shortly there after. PM is everywhere!!

Check and clean your air filtration as best as you can is probably a good start...

Sulfur burns if you aren't in your home/dwelling...

You can wash dirty plants in a bath of water and hydrogen peroxide, which will remove and kill the PM... I have done it quite successfully and had the buds tested for cleanliness and potency by Analysis 360 and they came back clean. 5 gal water/ 2 cups (3% hydrogen peroxide). I trim the fan leaves off then, I dunk the buds on the stems in there for about 5 minutes lightly agitating, then spray them off in the sink and hang them to dry in front of a fan for 45 mins to 1 hr. Then I trim them as if I hadn't washed them... I.e. Trim and hang for 7-10 days.

    Good luck!!

  3. I use a sulphur pot during lights out and a product called PM Wash by NPK Industries. This can be used right up to and during harvest.
I battle PM constantly due to my location. I bleach my rooms between crops but it pops up regularly no matter what. Keep it under control is about all one can do.

  4. I've tried the PM wash... It's expensive!! Green Cure is much cheaper and most likely the same thing... If you manage to clean your grow and rid yourself of the dreaded PM, let me know how you did it. On that note, some plants are just magnets, while other plants right next to it never has a problem...
