Re-using coco.

  1. What steps should I take with regards to cleaning coco and how much root is it safe to leave without interfering with new plants.any help much appreciated.

  3. Coco and be used for 5 cycles give or take before it loses its structural integrity. It is important that you get a great flush, i recommend flushing with a flushing solution that will break down and remove all the salts that are left behind by most fertilizers. It is extremely important that you do this. Also, when I reuse my coco i remove the main root ball and break apart the remaining chunks until they are very fine. A fantastic coco manufacturer that I highly recommend is royal gold soils. I grow on the industrial level and we use their product with great results.

  5. Remove as much as you can and get it pre charged/ buffered again, you may want to add something like cannazym to aid in the breakdown of dead roots

  6. Flush with flushing agent (Florakleen, whatever). Then flush with RO water supplemented by 200 PPM Calcium and magnesium nitrate to rebuffer :)
     
  7. Canna zym gives you an amazing second grow in coco. All those little bits of root get broken down and used to feed your new baby heh
