1/22- After doing a bit of research I'm pretty sure I've decided on getting a 48"x24"x60" tent with two MarsHydro MARSII 400w (374 actual wattage) lights. Plan on putting a 6" 430cfm fan with a speed controller and a carbon scrubber for the smell once I hit flowering. probably won't be growing more than 4 plants, and when I get enough seeds I'm trying to do a perpetual grow (hopefully)

seeds in the soil, now it's time to play the waiting game! still need to work on getting all light leaks filled in before flowering and I need to pick up a carbon scrubber and some stronger outtake fans. using a mixture of 2700k and 6500k since I will be using autoflowering strains. Hoping to pick up an LED or move over to HPS soon. A cash converters around me has a ballast + light assembly that I've been eyeballing for a month or two now.

  3. While your wattage goes up you'll need to add more fans to exchange the hot stale air, cool air in the bottom and hot out the top..

Currently have 4 fans total, two PC fans on exhaust, and 2 others to move air around. currently going with passive intake. Plan on upgrading the outtake fan when I put a carbon scrubber on for flowering. got a nice little hydroponics shop 20 minutes away where I can get some supplies. with 180 watts temps are currently staying around 75-80 with around 40-55% humidity.

  5. Oh I see them now,.
That's good for now or a couple of weeks - once you get around 300 watts of CFL the heat starts to rise quite a bit,.
Looks like your fans are on the side of the box where heat will still build up above what you have - better to have them at the highest point so straight out the top is best, then have your passive intake as low as possible..

A 6" inline exhaust fan would work the best with 2 - 4" passive intakes..

A 250 watt hid would rock in that box, don't look like you could fit a a/c hood without some ingenuity ... :)

  6. planning on grabbing a tent within the next few weeks. Gonna use the box for veg then flower under a 400w hps in the tent, trying to get a perpetual thing going on eventually

  7. Beans have popped and put into the soil. should hopefully see them popping up within the next few days

  8. Diesel-matic has broke through the soil [IMG]

May be going LED. Looking to spend 2-300 on a new light setup.

figured out how much Uncle Sam will be giving back to me today so some investments are more than likely happening sooner than later. Ran into some issues with my ph and mold so a few of my seeds kinda went kaput. Been a while since my last grow so it's nice to run into problems like this early so I can re-learn the trade. Planted my Exodus cheese and it's doing fairly well, second set of leaves should be sprouting any day now. Also got some ph up & down and a ph tester so I won't be running into those issues anymore. Will be placing my order for some more seeds within these next few weeks, as well as a new tent, fans, and lights. Hoping to have everything put together by the end of February or so. Got a carbon scrubber set up for when these start to go into flower. Sadly have no pictures for today but I should be able to post a few within the upcoming week. Stay tuned for more [IMG]

  13. you grow autos before?

  14. yup. my second attempt at growing was with autos a few years back, was looking towards about 2.5ish ounces off 3 plants grown in semi-alright conditions, some complications that I couldn't control happened and I had to abandon the grow. have my own personal growing space where nobody can bother me now though, so it's game on [IMG]

  15. The Exodus Cheese auto is starting to look nice, tips of the leaves are a little burnt from using unph'd filtered water when I first started it up, ph is under control now and it's starting to grow nicely. Water yesterday and am noticing some differences between the days, can't wait to see her grow a little more. Had my Bubblelicious auto pop yesterday and she was placed in a rapid rooter and left in a warm dark area over night so the taproot could develop into the rooter, checked on her today and everything was looking great so she went into the soil as well.
as of right now they are currently under around 150 actual watts of CFL, ended up turning a few off just because they really weren't reaching the plants due to how close I have them to the lights right now. Wish I would've put the Exodus Cheese into a larger pot or something now. gonna attempt to transplant it into something bigger within the next two weeks and see how it goes. Both will be moved into my tent setup once the orders are placed and everything arrives and is put together.

I'm aware. The roots haven't grown to the bottom of the cup yet, and I was able to transplant without disturbing the soil so hopefully the growth stunting will be minimal. Just cut part of the bottom off and placed it into something bigger.

    Update!

Went ahead and gave em some water today. Everything seems to be going fairly well, the Exodus Cheese seems to have not even noticed the transplant is has been growing at a pretty good rate (thank god) It does seem to be a little burnt though on the tips, haven't started nutes at all yet so I think it may be an under-watering issue on my part. Made sure to give her a nice bath today and made sure I had a decent amount of runoff to hopefully remove some of the salts from the soil. The Bubbalicious on the other hand has been doing very well since sprouting and I am seeing some decent growth day by day [IMG]. I apologize for the terrible pictures, I'm working on getting something with a better camera

Probably gonna end up throwing a non-auto in along with these two whenever my tent comes in and everything is set up, planning on vegging it while these flower then switch to flower as soon as I harvest.
