  2. It is a non issue to me. If they take my weapons, including guns, swords, knives, away it means I'm dead so I won't care.

That is tongue in cheek. Of course I care about our rights, but I think you'll get the point.

  3. No human, or group of humans, has the right to dictate what another human may or may not possess even if the majority agrees or if they call themselves a government. End of discussion. My rights are not up for debate.

  4. Gun control is like trying to stop drownings by banning pools.

Or trying to stop duis by banning alcohol.

Or trying to stop piracy by banning movies.

Its stupid and is all based on fear mongering.

And the purpose is only sinister in nature. The one and only reason we have gun control is to secure more power to the state.

Anyone who supports gun control is simply a gullible who gave into fearmongering and paranoia and forgot history

  5. I'm not against some regulation, but the sense of security strict gun laws give to some people is just such an illusion. Anyone with an internet connection can learn how to make a bomb powerful enough to eclipse most shooting incidents, if placed in the right place, and using components available to all.

The idea that someone needs a gun to kill you is infantile, as is the idea that making certain guns illegal will wipe them off the face of the Earth.

  6. America has the most lax gun regulation in the western world, and the most gun violence in the western world. There's really not much more to it.

  8. But not the most violent crime. You don't need guns to have high violent crime. Let's just ban anything sharp or potentially dangerous and wrap all bricks and rocks up in foam while we're at it.

  9. What about the right to own nukes?

  10. It would be virtually impossible without a government behind the operation and I don't think anyone would ever make one alone but I stand by my statement.

  11. Have people not learned a lesson, one still being taught to them to this day?

When government tries to control something, especially something the people want, a massive violent black market ensues.

  12. Oh but there is, there is much, much more to the discussion than trite statements like yours.

Chicago has some of the strictest gun regulation out of any city in the US, and is one of, if not the foremost, murder capitals of the USA.

So let's at least admit there's more to the discussion than "guns r bad, ban guns, no more murder", because that's demonstrably not true.

  13. The goverment controlled media does an outstanding job of distracting people from the truth and history and keeping them focused on inconsequential bullshit and the liberal narrative.

The government tried banning drugs and look how well that's worked.

  15. It completely baffles me how anyone can seriously oppose the basic, common sense gun control measures that Obama seeks to introduce. Then again, there is a lot I do not understand about Republican ideology.

  16. What are Obama's "common sense" measures? Banning high capacity mags and introducing background checks easily bypassed?

You should have to sit your gun license, just like driving a car I suppose. Driving a car is considered a priviledge, nor a right.. and it's basically just a metallic container with wheels that moves. Maybe the same should apply for guns. You could have your license suspended if they have any reason to suspect you could end up doing stupid shit.. but everyone should have the right to sit their gun license and get a gun for self-defense, I suppose.

Funny how some people are pro speeding fines and anti-drunk driving, but pro-guns (as in.. unrestricted access).

  19. What's the man to do? He had no other options left having been met with a brick wall of opposition at every turn, even the mass slaughter of children didn't sway the pro gun lobby...

As a much maligned President, a highly commendable job has been done in trying to win the public over to important issues. Primarily gun control and climate change.

This not being achieved is more an indictment of the American public (and political system) than it is of him, seeing as how he is the first President I can remember to be as vocal about either issue.

Driving is a right not a privilege, just like owning a gun.
