How to feminize seeds without hermie?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by goombah111, Jan 5, 2016.

  1. I heard hermie seeds make hermie plants. But i always thought that was the way to make feminized seeds.

Ive always read colloidal silver and/or over maturing would make guaranteed fem.

Which ways are safe and which are not?

  2. Collodial silver will cause a plant to reverse. You can then use the pollen on other plants to create fem seeds.

  3. Reverse?

Okay so using hermaphrodite pollen on a female produces female seeds? Okay thats starting to sound familiar.

  4. @goombah111 I remember that Soma had a good section regarding "How to make feminized seeds" in the last pages of his book:
"Soma Organic Marijuana Soma Style: The Pleasures of Cultivating Connoisseur Cannabis Marijuana Tips(2005)"
    (If I'm not mistaken)

So i hermie a plant and use it on another plant then its going to cross the 2 strains into a hybrid?

  6. Well, I'm not sure but I remember there was some stuff written there regarding stress(specially pH) and how you can have 100% female seeds from any strain.
Have you already checked his book?

  7. Nah not enough time.

You mean 100% fem seeds from just a normal hermie? Now that would be a time saver

  8. Well, I haven't done anything related to "feminizing seeds" nor having a hermie and all I remember was "stressing plant" regarding the feminized seeds, so I can't say anything more about that since it will be confusing and based on "what I've heard". I recommend you to take a look at that "How to make feminized seeds" section on the book, even if you have no time to read all of it.(it's not more than 4-5 pages)

  9. Maybe ill check it out. I think i got my answer though, use hermie pollen on normal female. Makes sense and rings a bell. I recall reading that a long time ago

  10. Alright then
Anyways, I wish I could post some of his words here, but since the book is copyrighted, in the best case I'd be able to quote 1-2 sentence which would be nothing but some "teasing" IMHO.
I hope you'll find the best solution for it
