Will my plant still grow some decent buds?

  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. But mines a micro grow anyway. Basically my plant has been hit pretty hard by something unknown. Almost all the leaves, except for the new growth seems to be affected by something, as they're all dying off. I'm trying to baby it, as I switched over to flower about 2 weeks ago. The leaves are still dying, but I'm hoping a few leaves will be spared to produce the buds. How's this looking to you guys? Any advice saving this one? Cheers.

  2. nutrient burn either the soil is hot or you feeding too much.

  3. Yes, I agree with you. I've flushed the plant and now just started adding half strength nutrients. By I'm wondering to what extent would bud quality and harvest amount be affected. I guess the best way is to let it grow and find out. But unfortunately, both of my plants have been hit by the heat. My other plant had every single leaf die, but it has started producing more leaves. I'm just going to baby my two damaged plants and hope for the best. I'll be adding a second exhaust fan to keep the temps down.

  4. I learned quickly that doing too much is worse than doing nothing sometimes. I had a problem starting and instantly I'm in there adding nutes, water, moving lights. I read where newbies panic so I sit back and PhD everything from that point on and bam came back

  5. When you have nutrient burn just flush. Don't flush and add more nutrients right away. You're loving it to death

  6. Ok, I understand that I added too much nutrients. But here the temperatures just rocketed up to 40 degrees celsius and 10% humidity. I read somewhere that the plants will suck up all the water up very quickly to cool down, but obviously too much nutrients at once will wreck the plants. I guess I learnt the hard way by destroying both my plants. Next time I'll only use half of the nutrients dosage. But is it possible my plant will still produce some buds despite the severity of the damage? I can see the buds starting to form and are looking healthy. But I've just about lost nearly all the fan leaves.

  7. IMO cut off the dead leaves and then post what you are left with and just finish it out... You put time money and love into her at least get something out of it

  8. Hey guys, I'm back. Here's some updates on how the girls are doing. What you guys reckon? The tops are looking good. I only pulled any leaves off that would just break with a gentle pull. There's new under-growth. Now my new question is, does that look like it's starting to flower? Because I can't tell if it's just new leaves on the tops? Also, a pic of my almost dead other plant lol.

  9. Thought I might post an update. My plant seems to be recovering nicely, I've been flushing it for a week and it's actually budding nicely. Despite the nute burn and heat, I'm surprised at how well it's doing. I've been picking off leaves here and there as they die and today it's buds are looking good. And by that, I mean the tops. I'm looking in to doing a serious grow for my next one. Looking at a LED hydro set up and using my current box for veg :) Anyway, here's some pics :)

A black plastic bucket will insulate heat just fine. No wonder your plant is drying up. I suggest a terrocota pot. They stay cool and retain moisture. Weed plants love terracota pots.

  12. Yea I'm actually surprised myself, Larry. She recovered really well and very quickly too. All I did was flush with fresh water for about a week.

  13. Thanks for the tip grasscoty. That's actually a really good point that you made. I'll def be getting terracotta pots for the next one! Cheers! And here's a few pics of the progress... Not much, but more will come :) oh, and I've started adding nutes again yesterday, but only at 1/4 strength and they're supposed to be "organic" nutes too.

  15. Wow, they bounced back with vengeance. Congrats bro !

Can't wait to see my plant budding like that.

  16. Haha yea they came back quick! And thriving! It's throwing white hairs out really quick. It's my first time growing, so it's pretty exciting to see the work and effort paying off. I'll keep posting updates as she gets bigger buds. :) I'll be planting some OG kush seeds after, this plant was some bag seed a friend gave me.

  17. So one day later, it grew heaps! And this was half dead only a few weeks ago.. It doesn't smell at all.. wondering what strain it could be?

  18. Don't worry about no smell yet.

A pure sativa like that is going to take 100 days to flower. Give it time, it'll smell

  19. Ok, here's some updates.. only just over 2 weeks into flower. It seems to be beefing up nicely. It seems to have cal-mag deficiency in a few of the top stems, hopefully adding a bit more of the nutrients will solve that. Enjoy :)
