This topic I made was deleted and I was given a warning by a mod because I wasn't discussing "weed".

YES, I am talking about MARIJUANA. Back on topic, please don't delete this mods.

So, I'm 18 and started smoking weed a month ago, and last night, I got really baked and hallucinated a little bit. I have severe OCD and generalized anxiety disorder if that makes a difference. I heard some voices as well, and a wolf howling, however I knew I was in control as I could control the voices. I also was staring at objects, and making them out to be things they weren't. However, this wasn't unpleasant, but rather interesting. Should I be worried that weed is making me schizophrenic, or giving me some type of disorder? I get a little anxious while high, but definitely enjoy the food and music euphoria. I definitely don't want to quit. Just worried it might be giving me a disorder. I am in control of my hallucinations though for the most part, like I said. Any advice? Thanks.

  2. Come on dude. Common sense would tell you that cannabis won't give you a mental disorder. Snoop Dogg, Tommy Chong, and Seth Rogen would all be FUCKED UP if that was the case.

No. You just got really high.

  3. That's great to hear, I actually was a little worried about giving up my weed. Thanks

  4. No you should be proud.

Cause it won't last when your tolerance goes up

  5. Dude!!!!! That'd be fuckim awesome!!!!!! I wish weed made me hallucinate!!!!!!

  6. When I hardly had a tolerance I'd get crazy CEV's. I miss those days, enjoy them while you can.

  7. eh stay up for 25-30 hours and weed will hit you like a freight train in the mind.

Did that yesterday morning since I hadn't slept at that point for 23hrs. I was beyond fucked up.

  8. If you're only 18, and a man, your brain is just beginning to develop. You are at particular risk, evidenced by your mental disorders and hallucinations, of having severe, irreversible mental, emotional, and cognitive dysfunction if you continue to smoke. Also, it's likely even if you don't smoke, given your history.. The hallucinations will become permanent without powerful antipsychotic meds. Better give it up, mate, before it's too late.

  9. How do donkeys like joker get on here?

  10. were you mad tired and mad high or just rly high?

We do not know nearly enough facts about your particular situation here to advise you my friend especially since you come here to a cannabis forum on the internet for medical/mental health advise and you'll typically get a hundred different suggestions some positive some negative. First off, do you have a history of mental illness or schizophrenia in you family history? Are you getting your severe OCD and anxiety addressed by either self help or professional mental help? At 18 I would say your severe OCD and anxiety is not going to get any better and only get worse since your already suffering at such a young age you realy need to get that shit under control right away or at least work on it now while your young so it DOESN'T develop into something much worse down the line for you. These conditions like schizophrenia do typically develop in late teens and 20's for a lot of individuals. Weed might not necessarily cause any mental disorders per se but if your already prone to schizophrenia/mental illness based on genetics and in this case you already are severely OCD and suffer from GAD I would say at 18 I would get those issues under control first and cannabis use in your situation is a BAD idea. Especially for you as your brain is still in it's developing stages for the most part even at 18. I am not sure what Joker is saying has any merit as far as permanent mental symptoms but in other words it could make your conditions much worse seeing as you already suffer from some mental issues. It did for me when I was 18 and caused me to lay off cannabis for 30 years until I got my shit together. Weed can make symptoms of anxiety and panic more prone in SOME people and ease symptoms in others. It all depends on the individual so there is no simple cause and effect when it comes to this shit. So I would tread lightly sir and give it up until your anxiety and OCD is in check. I also am severely OCD and suffer from pretty severe GAD and panic disorder and even some depression and I get none of those symptoms your describing when I consume cannabis today so I think that might be a warning sign to get that shit in check first. Once again everyone's situation is different and there is no simple answer to what your asking here.

For example, I smoked a lot last night (almost 2g), and feel great today, as in much less OCD, and almost stress free. I'm almost never like this.

Why do I feel my hallucinations are not psychotic? Because I usually see something, as in a chair, and the more I stare at it, the more my mind turns it into something it's not (a face, for example.)

Or, I'm listening to a sound, like the refrigerator making noise, and then voices can appear, but I can control the voices, as in I can control what they say, which makes me think I'm just bugging hard, not actually hallucinating.

Not trying to make you nervous my friend, but it sounds like you are at least addressing your issues. No one knows what the future may hold and hopefully you will never develop a debilitating illness like schizophrenia. You said you do not want to give up weed and I understand but at 18 you really need to pay attention to your overall well being and mental health since your already undergoing some issues it is much more crucial in your case that your just aware of your mental health state. Just make sure your symptoms do not get worse now that you consume cannabis that's all. For me I had such severe anxiety every time I used cannabis when I was 18, I completely gave it up for over 30 years but I had started using at a much younger age and I am sure that had everything to do with it. Remember weed is not for everyone and you'll find out if it's for you before long I imagine.

  15. Well that's good news that your symptoms might be relieved by using weed and not getting worse.

  16. Thanks for the advice bhbest. Yes, when I was newer I would get pretty anxious smoking weed, to the point where I would bug out about the lighter flame getting close to my face and "permanently scarring" me. However, now when I do it by myself, and then chill on youtube or something, I end up loving it, and knowing "it's all in my head". I feel it clears my mind, and especially helps me sleep. Weed also motivated me to begin bodybuilding/weight training, I'm super skinny, and it's really helping my self esteem. I will definitely look out for symptoms of any disorders that could arrive. And me being an OCD hypochondriac at times, I hope it goes alright. I'll also ask my therapist when I see him again.

  17. hopefully you have nothing to worry about. I think we all tried to get a bad experience after smoking. the important thing is that it is not an experience that repeats itself too often. but listen to your body and brain, perhaps cannabis is not for you.
Genetic is the link between schizophrenia and cannabis abuse:
The results showed that participants with a genetic high risk of developing schizophrenia, were more likely to smoke marijuana, and had a higher consumption of the substance.

Lead author, Robert Power also points out to Medical News Today, the results do not exclude the possibility that cannabis use may increase the risk of schizophrenia, but believes instead that there is probably an opposing relationship so that you are genetically predisposed to schizophrenia, has also increased the risk of having an addiction.

no I never got tired till 5 pm that night..... but no wasn't really feeling the tiredness. and went on a bike ride actually. which was a bit dangerous, I was at a point of highness that ya I was seeing the ground but couldn't comprehend it ,nor did I have a good sense of depth perception.

over all it's like getting to that point of tiredness that you just start babbling non whimsical shit. and then what I experienced was a stronger psychedelic experience from the pot then usual. and I think I was at my worst when the tree started changing colors so fast scared the shit out of me. cause it felt like my vision was freezing then boom my vision started catching up showing the picture of like a time-lapse film. just to much for me
