Ok, to start off I am 18 years old and have had no prior incidents with police. This incident happened when I was 17. So last month a friend of mine (hes 17), and someone else I kind've know (he set up the deal and is 17) went to West Virginia (i drove) to buy weed (we live in Virginia, 20 min drive). To keep things short, things went sour, and we ended up running from two dudes trying to rob us, the other guy I kindve knew stayed at my car because he got beat up and robbed. My Friend begged someone to let him in while he was getting chased and they called the cops while inside, the dudes fleed when they heard that. When i finaly met up with my friend (I left my phone in my car and it unlocked so I couldnt call him,) he was on the phone with the other kid we were with. He said the cops were waiting for us by my car and saw a baggie of weed in the passengers seat. We got back to my car and the questioning starts. They search my car and find two scales, about a gram of weed, a grinder with residue, a bong, a bowl, a bubbler, and fireball whiskey. The other kid confessed to owning the whiskey and one of the scales. Though after a few petty lies, I foolishly admitted to going to west virginia to buy weed. Neither my friend or I confessed to owning anything in my car. They made us call our parents and took us back to the police station. They said they could charge me with everything bc it was my car, but later on told my dad we were all being charged together as juveniles. My dad said they were charging us with intent to sell and posession. They questioned the kid who set up the deal, and he told them who the kid who was gonna sell to us was, they even showed him a picture of some guy asking if it was him (again idk if this is true its what the kid told me while they were keeping us in the room). This kid has a prior record, while me and my friend have none. They told my dad to expect the court papers in a week to a month depending on what the judge said. Well now its been a month and I haven't smoked since the day it happened, but I havent received any paperwork from the court. My question is, what is likely to happen to me and why is it taking so long to get the court paperwork? Thank you all and I appreciate any advice you can give me.

  2. You gotta be over 18 to use grasscity. Hopefully someone answers your question before you get banned

  3. I have turned 18 since the incident, 2 weeks after in fact.

  4. Nobody can tell you what's going to happen bro. Its up to the courts which is different everywhere you go. Get an attorney if you have questions. They're the only ones that will be able to point you in the right direction and it looks like you can use it. All you'll find asking strangers is false hope or un-needed worry. Good luck man. Seriously talk to a lawyer that handles cases in that jurisdiction. Its different everywhere.

  5. Yeah I believe my parents set up to get an attorney. But as I said, I need the court papers for the attorney to see which havent gotten here yet. I know what you mean though, its just this past month has got me so anxious I just want to see what other people think about it, maybe those that were in similiar situations

  6. I live in California so of course everything here is different , I've been caught with a quarter on me and the cops just told me to get rid of it. But since you only had a gram and some paraphanelia I think they'll see that you weren't selling anything and most likely just smoking it and might let you off with a fine or something. But that's just a guess. In California if you get caught with a gram nothing happens. It's strange to hear such an intense reaction

Why did the people not take all of that when yall ran off? Or did you do the deal in their car

  8. get a fucking lawyer, the end.

with that said, never ever ever cop to anything or talk to the police without a lawyer present. even if all it does is give you time and breathing room to figure shit out. don't let them scare or coerce you into doing something you don't want to do. if they did force or make you do something against your will, a lawyer will get it all out in the open in the proper way. there are many ways to skin a cat and having a lawyer present will help you get reduced charges or a dismissal of them.

the only time i got into trouble involving ganja i did get a lawyer. 1500$ and i walked away with out having to do classes or go to juvi. no probation or anything. definitely get a lawyer. not a public defender. because in the end it will cost far more then the price of a lawyer once the system gets a hold of you. trust me, you dont want to be that guy.

  9. It was the scale that screwed them. Getting booked with weed=possesion charge. Getting booked with weed+scale=possesion with the means of trafficking.

Thats why I never understood why people bring scales to their dealers. If I was choppin I would love for people to bring their scales like this if we got booked I would just say the custy is the dealer and his scale makes him guilty.

  10. lawyer.

juvenile + 1st offense = irrelevant drug program

    (my bet)

  11. I would bet its taking so long because they have bigger things to deal with. Maybe your dad got the paperwork and just hasnt shown you yet. But who knows really, I am not a lawyer.

  12. You should be shopping around for a lawyer, if you aren't already.

You probably aren't looking at anything serious, especially since it happened while you were a minor.

A skilled lawyer should be able to get your charges down to probably simple possession.

  13. Yea won't even go on your adult record

  14. Not much will happen mate. They can charge you with intent to sell, but without actual proof that it went from person A to person B, it won't stand in court. Plead guilty to possession and nothing else. I would advise a lawyer seeing it's your first time, I'm sure you can get free ones there? If you still haven't heard of anything I would sit tight and don't bother chasing it up in the case they might not be bothered taking you to court. It seems very weird that they said the paperwork is being posted. Normally you get arrested, charged, apply for bail, and then released with your paperwork in hand! I honestly think they were just trying to scare you, avid thought contacting your parents and making them aware was enough punishment. Let's hope so, good luck, don't stress you won't be going to jail!

  15. Probation for a year and that's it. Your only 17 so they won't do much.
