Do I have to change reservoir every week?

  1. I don't want do that shit! It will wear out my water filters! Cant I just adjust the ph and add nutrients? I just want to do 2 reservoir changes, once between veg and flowering, and a flush a week before the end.

  2. don't want to do the little bit of work it takes to grow chronic?

then you need to quit now and get used to buying your herb from those that aren't so lazy they can't change a tank of water once a week.

  3. Actually you may NEED to do a rez change more than once a week. There is a reason you see EVERYONE doing rez changes, it resets the balance of nutes in the reservoir. SO you want to go through all of the effort to do you own grow but are worried about the cost of a water filter? Like CBall said above just buy your weed dude.

  4. lololol
ok, but can i maybe do it once every two weeks? and just add nutrient to solution in between?

  5. Did you not see the "change a few times a week" part? Lol

  6. Depends on the size of your res, the needs of the plants at whatever given stage of growth they're at, and your method of maintaining nutrient concentrations.
If you're changing a res more than once a week, you're certainly not doing something right.

  7. thankz crankz

if you need to change your res every week then you're doing something wrong.

I usually change my res when I switch from veg to flower, and sometimes halfway through flowering, depending on the size of the reservoir.

I like to change my reservoir once the plants have taken up about 3 or 4 times the volume of the reservoir.

If you need to change the res as often as every week, then either your reservoir is too small creating an unnecessary amount of work for yourself, or your chosen nutrient range is not well balanced for marijuana.

I have an RTF running right now that has been running for 9 weeks that has 15 autos growing in it. I have used ionic bloom the whole time and have yet to change out the reservoir. I have experienced absolutely no nutrient or root problems at all with them

  9. *Work smarter, not harder.

    *Being efficient is not lazy.

*For a disabled person it can be quite a struggle to do big jobs like changing the reservoir out

  10. I usually plan on 2-3 changes during veg, with the last one with transition nutrients. During bloom, I let the plants tell me, some strains require different doses. I've done two grows with a Recirculating system, great for the same strain, not so good with different strains. Water uptake on some strains can be as much as a gallon and a half per day (acapulco in this case), where others may use far less. I prepare my mixtures in advance of res change, my buckets have been outfitted with drain valves so lifting is kept to a minumum, and more time efficient. Just curious, why do you filter your water? What is the ppm's of your tap water?

  11. omg dont get me started on tap water its full of poison! fluoride! chlorine! arsenic!

  12. Everyone's tap water is different, mine is perfectly fine, I've never had problems with it

  13. o ya make sure get a list of shit that is in it somehow

  14. This is my "list of shit that is in it". As you can see, there isnt anything at any harmful levels

  15. I change my res 2 maybe 3 times through the whole grow cycle. I use h202 to keep algae and pest at bay for the res. I'm sure like most I don't even use a ph meter or Ppm

Like above we know our water

  16. I only top up with water, and when I have added the total amount of my Res, then I do a change, Hope this helps!

  17. You only get out what you put in. For best results change weekly. Top off daily alone with adjusting ph. Flush either bi weekly or weekly to be extra safe. By doing this you will not have any lock out issues and the plants will grow more robust. You will also have less issues with sludge/ algae. It will pay off in the end and the taste will be superior. Too many people forget how important it is to flush then wonder why their plants are not growing. It's because salts that are in the synthetic nutrients build up and prevent them from growing or slow the rate of growth. Once the flush they are amazed by how well the plants start growing again. Flushing also help remove some of that crap from the plant. That's why it's recommend that you flush at least a week prior to harvest and feed nothing but water. Trust me your lungs will thank you.

  18. For my stand alone 5g buckets I do one top up with plain water after initially filling with nute solution then rinse out when it gets empty and refill with fresh nutrient solution. My RDWC just get topped up as needed with either nutrient solution or fresh water and cleaned when it gets nasty, which so far hasn't happened. I run 2ml h202 per gallon of water and bleach my buckets every once in a while.

  19. I only change my veggie res once every 2 weeks. Otherwise I top off with fresh water for the week in between with good results!

I can't do this during flowering as I've noticed the plants like to be replenished more so I stick to once a week for flowering and I get better results
